Very well said. Let's perhaps try to make a complete UH-1H first.

Well I was under the impression that since the release of 1.2.7 that the UH-1H Huey is no longer a beta.

The Belsimtek site still lists it as beta.

a Greek Army mechanic third crew of a heuy UH-1H and very close friend of mine gave the real manual that pilots have

its a red block book that have a ton of pages included what to do

in emergency procedures engines parts start-up shutdown etc etc

since then i fly the sim with this book

i have to say that Belsimtek has gave us a hell of a sim

so yeah the B version would be great

even the whole series ;)

I saw it posted, as a planned item, but have not seen anyone say it is released since 1.2.7 came out. Regardless what it is called, it isn't finished.

I would have much more hope on BST regarding the UH-1H development. Product was stated end of development with 1.2.7 - with a few features on hold due to DCS engine restriction to be worked by ED.

At least, for me it seems quite complete anyway - but i don't fly her on a daily basis so i'm not huey expert.

I would enjoy more variant, yet i would prefer more different platform for now.

The 1.2.7 final release version is also planned to be the final release of the UH-1H module, although further updates and improvements will continue to be made and released as we move forward with the Mi-8MTV2 and other modules in development.

As no one has said this has been changed, I would be inclined to take it as the Huey is now out of beta.

Hopefully EB will comment if thats not the case.

Anyway am going off topic.

What DarkWolf said: It's sort of in a twilight zone as far as being completed. BST has done pretty much all they can do, the rest of the promised features can't be implemented just yet due to engine limitations that ED have said they will deal with.

This is from the Belsimtek website, right now.

What's different in UH-1B? Wiki states 'Upgraded HU-1A, various external and rotor improvements', but what exactly?

I don't see the interest.

I'd like to see more variety of aircraft than the 'same' aircraft over and over again...

And the AH-1G is a good step forward.

DCS Wish: Turbulences affecting surrounding aircraft...

Too similar I think, Huey is good but I would rather buy variants of the AH-1 or Hind (once we get them).

HP G2 Reverb (Needs upgrading), Windows 10 VR settings: IPD is 64.5mm, High image quality, G2 reset to 60Hz refresh rate. set to OpenXR, but Open XR tool kit disabled.

DCS: Pixel Density 1.0, Forced IPD at 55 (perceived world size), DLSS setting is quality at 1.0. VR Driver system: I9-9900KS 5Ghz CPU. XI Hero motherboard and RTX 3090 graphics card, 64 gigs Ram, No OC... Everything needs upgrading in this system!.

Vaicom user and what a superb freebie it is! Virpil Mongoose T50M3 base & Mongoose CM2 Grip (not set for dead stick), Virpil TCS collective with counterbalance kit (woof woof). Virpil Apache Grip (OMG). MFG pedals with damper upgrade. Total controls Apache MPDs set to virtual Reality height. Simshaker Jet Pro vibration seat.. Uses data from DCS not sound... goodbye VRS.

Of course I'm for any other variants of the Huey, and any helicopters in general.

Would love a Bravo or Charlie Gunship model, but that would only make sense if a Vietnam map is developed some day, then it will become interesting with UH-1H,UH-1B/C, Mi-8, MiG 21, and ( planned ) A7 Corsair II... would only miss a F4 Phantom and maybe another one ( Chinook, F100 or Cayuse ) and it would be the dream for all Vietnam era enthusiast

But as no one is on the same wavelength here, I doubt this will ever happen, we'll keep see coming aircrafts from totally different eras, which have nothing in common, and we'll keep debating why we have a Spitfire in the middle of Strelas lol ...

Anyway, anything new is healthy I think, don't you ?

Yeah but IMHO the main problem in the DCS community is the too much diverse opinion. The other day online there was a guy being rude because I was happy about the idea of a C130 DCS module for example. This dude called me a bus driver and that I did not understand a slight thing about air war.

But that kind of behavior is logical, in a way DCS brings many wonders, but wonders that have NOTHING IN COMMON

Su-25T : 1980

A-10C : 2006

P-51 : 1942

Huey : 1960

Mi-8 : 1961

Next ? P-47,BF-109,Me 262 etc at least are in the same time frame and will have dedicated environment etc

But next is also

MiG 21 : 1955

F-18 : 1980

AH-1G : 1967

F-86 : 1947

Okay, don't have to be a genius to say there is absolutely no logic between all those airframes, this generating all the divergent opinions we can find on the forums and online.

The great thing is : ED and 3rd parties don't care at all what we think, so at least they're not biased by our wishes and do that they want, DCS is, and has always been a sharp and accurate sim, merging all eras... in the same old Caucasus for now. Kinda strange but you love it or you don't, it's high quality products we have

They all fly, they all shoot, they're all built for military purposes. That's plenty, and enough in common for a flight sim that from day one has been very clear about not being so inflexible that it can't go outside a single, narrow era.

I secretly long for a DC-3 (or a C-47) for DCS, so you're not alone on wanting non combat planes.

As for the topic, I don't really see the need for the UH-1B. It's simply an older model that the UH-1H we've got is based upon.

I don't really think there's any need for another Huey in DCS at the moment and we'd be better served by other aircraft, but if we do have one then I'd rather see the Twin Huey (or variant of) over the B.

+1

I'd buy a good DCS Dak immediately. Would be right at home in a low-tech context, say flying supplies for the insurgents or something. And in an ideal world the big boys would of course have their C-130s / Antonovs as well

Yeah, bring on the transports says I!

The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.
