This is shaping up so well, super excited.

First time i've ever been excited by any BLUFOR aircraft at all.

.. Do we get a fictional russian skin? xD

That spin mode switch indeed sounds like its going to be fun to mess with. Just to ask, how complex is this aircraft to fly compared to say, the MIG-21 for the pilot?

Just interested in how quickly the testers got familiar with the airframe and its capabilities. Been looking at some of the shots of the cockpit linked in the discussion threads and it looks super sexy.

with FBW it is very easy to fly, certainly way easier than the MiG21, especially to land. Sadly, the complexity of the MiG21 is what i loved the most. Once you master those aircrafts you are proud of yourself.

The M2000 is gonna be more capable and agile. I think we are gonna enjoy every second in it!

EDIT: To add all of our development and testing to date has been with 2.0+. Zeus will have to give a final answer but my guess the plan is to not go backwards.

This is great news! :)

Current specs: Windows 10 Home 64bit, i5-9600K @ 3.7 Ghz, 32GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB Samsung EVO 860 M.2 SSD, GAINWARD RTX2060 6GB, Oculus Rift S, MS FFB2 Sidewinder + Warthog Throttle Quadrant, Saitek Pro rudder pedals.

Sounds awesome indeed from your description, looking forward to it for sure.

I love the MIG-21, still learning it. Is a beautiful aircraft, but looking forward to having a more up to date toy alongside it for double the fun and variety. Hvant really flown any more modern fast movers, MIG-21 is the first jet sim ive actually tried getting into, FC3 just isnt at the simulation level i feel comfortable with. It seems bizarre to have no interactive cockpit for me. Even with a HOTAS I love the feeling of being able to interact with the actual planes systems.

Would be quite interesting also to see a mirage and mig flying together! Nevermind getting into a merge.. although in that situation my money would be on the Mirage.

Used to a bit of complexity. Doing missions in the KA-50 which im somewhat competent at apart from the more complicated operations of the ABRIS. Hopefully the moving map system of the Mirage wont quite be as obtuse, as that thing still gives me nightmares sometimes!

I have 1 work holiday left to take before Christmas

This day shall be forever known as the M2000C day, whenever it may be.

My pre-loaded holiday request form is ready each morning awaiting word on the delivery of my shiny new M2000C :pilotfly: pew pew pew

same here, i love the mig for its complexity and fidelity. The Mirage wont disappoint in the latter. Dogfighting with it wont be any less fun.

However, there is no moving map in the M2000. The navigation from and to waypoint/steerpoints is done with instruments and cues on the HUD. I think for a fighter it s absolutely sufficient. Ground Attack aircraft would get a real benefit from moving maps. The M2000 isnt

I think there is misunderstanding here about FBW and SPIN switch.

About aircraft's balance:

- F-15 and Cold War Flanker are conventional aircraft (gravity center forward of lift center) with FBW as assistance.

-F-16 is unstable by design (gravity center aft of lift center) and can't be flown without FBW.

- Mirage 2000 is said (from public sources) to be neutral to unstable. The more the plane is loaded (2000L wing tanks) the more the plane is unstable.

Like with F-16, in Mirage 2000 FBW is your best friend. Disabling it to perform some stunt is not wise.

FBW are said to prevent stall and spin. SPIN switch is to be used to gain full authority in case you end up in situation where the aircraft can't prevent spin, like SPO switch in F-16 (for who played Falcon 4).

Just a quick correction there. The Su27 Flanker has near-zero or neutral static stability.

People keep saying 'disable FBW'. There is no disabling a proper FBW. No FBW = No control.

Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D

I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda

Ah, I don't know where I got the moving map idea from.

The cues on the HUD will be more than welcome enough, considering in MIG-21 you are using radials and rsbn for directions!!!

As for the switch well... of course its probably meant for EMERGENCY use only, but im sure it will be exciting to mess around with.

This may have been asked/answered already but...

Would the devs be willing to mention what systems are more estimated (or not included) as opposed to modeled exactly as in reality? I'm just curious.

Will Super 530D be available upon release?

Or will Mirage still use 530F that is currently in the game?

Since the 2000C IIRC never used the F, i'd say its in the reasonable line of expectations that it will have the D on release :)

I really hope so. :)

As far as I've seen, they've been using Foxtrot on their module so far. I know that Delta is planned but I really wish it'll be available upon release.

Slight correction. MPO - Manual Pitch Override. It overrides the AoA limiters of the FCC, if I recall correctly.

Yes, but you get the idea...you don't switch the SPO to do some stunt in the middle of the fight.

Lol, when flying the SU-27 at the speed of sound, flick that switch and pull the stick back very hard, things like this happen:

No seriously, it's ridiculous sometimes, I don't even know how to explain this in a form of physics.

Not even f-22s and su-34s are able to do that  it would need to have a thruster right underneath the cockpit, and a really hard structure i guess

The devs seem to be very hard at work. We barely heard something from them in the last days.

Hope somewhere is out there tot tell us if we can start the count down...

Ah I have learned numbers till 7 only :p

MiG 29 seems to redefine physics tbh.

Gotta catch them all bandits! :joystick:
