SkateZilla Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Here we go again... RAZBAM announces Mirage... SiTh says he isnt interested in the Mirage... RAZBAM releases vids and images... SiTh now has another purchase to hide from the wife :) Dang you 3rd Party groups and your pretty aircraft! I have a separate credit card now for PC/Gaming impulse buys... Same way with me abd email sales..."I dont need it", receive sale email "i gotta have it, thats too cheap to pass up". Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2), ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9) 3x ASUS VS248HP + Oculus HMD, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + MFDs
Raven68 Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 If someone has the experience and knowledge they can apply to ED to build terrain. Same goes with current 3rd Parties, they can request access to the tools if they have the people to do the work. Slightly OT, but some of us that backed DCS:WW2 were looking forward to having some access to the terrain building tools so we could get some experience possibly. That appears to have been yanked. Don't get me wrong I am not trying to turn this into a debate about backers rewards, but how could access to the terrain tools impact ED negatively? My understanding is that any map creation would have to go through ED to integrated anyways if there are quality concerns. Intel i5-9600K @ 3.7GHz; Gigabyte Z370XP SLI Mobo; G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 64GB (4 x 16GB) 288-Pin DDR4 GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 4080 16GB 256-Bit GDDR6; Thermaltake Water 3.0 Certified Liquid Cooling System Windows 11 Professional HP Reverb G2 /TrackIR 5 in case VR dies; Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog w/ Thrustmaster T-Flight Rudder Pedals
Prowler111 Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Without tools and guides is almost impossible to create a terrain. Maybe If ED launces a tool kit and some tutorials a Vietnam map will be made... But of course we will lack ALL the planes that fought there. Tools is no problem, if it comes to that.. We have some terrains in mind, but the team is really busy right now, if there are any terrain dev that wants to jump in, i´m here Prowler
Winfield_Gold Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Amazing work gents. Can't wait to buy this puppy
Flagrum Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Slightly OT, but some of us that backed DCS:WW2 were looking forward to having some access to the terrain building tools so we could get some experience possibly. My understanding is that any map creation would have to go through ED to integrated anyways if there are quality concerns. ED can not just develop complex tools, give them away for free, support all and everyone for free with how to use these tools (FM SDK, Map SDK, etc.), deal with all kinds of bugs and problems that might arise within those tools - or result in the (wrong) use of those tools, etc. etc. Therefore I would suspect that ED only gives access to these tools to qualified 3rd party devs that sign some sort of legal agreement or contract - so they get their compensation in form of royalty fees or something similar and to be able to actually excert some sort of influence when it comes to quality control. (disclaimer: this all is purely my own, personal speculation)
VincentLaw Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 (edited) ED can not just develop complex tools, give them away for free, support all and everyone for free with how to use these tools (FM SDK, Map SDK, etc.), deal with all kinds of bugs and problems that might arise within those tools - or result in the (wrong) use of those tools, etc. etc.Perhaps after enough time has passed ED will decide to sell the map tools for $50 or something instead of providing them for free then. As long as the documentation is good enough then ED does not need to provide one on one personalized tech support for every user, and if they are very similar to the tools ED and other third parties use (maybe with certain features disabled) then they would probably want to fix those bugs anyway. Unfortunately without access to tools I will not become an experienced map maker, and without being an experienced map maker I won't get access to the tools. Zeus67 Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Our ISP is at it again and we are without internet for the weekend and beyond, although they gave me a blood oath that the tech will be here 1st time on Monday. Anyway. Today a milestone was reached as today was the 1st. time of an aircraft (a Mil Mi-28 ) was shot down via Magic II AA missile. I'll load the video as soon as I have fully functional internet tubes. Winfield_Gold Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 Good to hear Zeus, looking forward to the upload once your internet is sorted

Zeus67 Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Still no internet. :noexpression: It took three phone calls but the tech came. :cheer3nc: They checked and then came with their diagnosis: "Yup, there is no internet. Line is deader than road kill." Me. "Are you for real?" :badmood:Them: "Can't fix it here. We must trace and see where the damage is. Goodbye." :furious: Anyway. Since the magics are working, I spent the day upgrading the HUD, specifically the Magic page. Had a nice battle and even made a really good video, if I say so myself. Unfortunately there is NO INTERNET!!! So I cannot load it to YouTube. At least not yet. We are tired of these bozos and are looking for another ISP. Hopefully we will have a permanent solution by end of this week.
