Awesome vids.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

Great vids! I'm usually not one to critique the music choice, but its a pity they didn't use something a tad more original...

I hated the song before it started to be overused :) But hey, since they've completely removed the music feel free to play your own bang! in an external player while watching the video. Want something more original? :sly:

Man oh man, I just wish the footage wasn't so heavily edited. I'm allergic to that kind of slow-mo.

The video contain moderate amount of that Discovery Channel syndrome effect. Could be worse :)

The cloud skating or cutting is just amazing to watch.

Do, or do not, there is no try.

A bit OT, but what is that "halo" effect around the shadow of the aircraft (i.e. when cloud skating)? I noticed this (or similar?) effect even in RL myself when driving my car or riding a bike and watching my own shadow ...

I always thought that it is some kind of optical illusion and that this "halo" is only virtually present because of the stark contrast of the shadow and the surrounding area in bright sunlight.

But here in this vid it is clearly not just an illusion ...?

Light scattering. You can also see the same effect when looking at the sun through alto stratus clouds.

If you aim for the sky, you will never hit the ground.

Hrm ... yeah, when looking at the source of the light. Maybe it is the even the effect in the video as the shadow is casted at the clouds which certainly have some sort of scattering effect there, too.

But when I ride a bike and look at my shadow on the ground, just 2 meters away ...? Hrm, maybe a different effect ... or even true optical illusion?

See. The FPS drops in DCS are actually on purpose to simulate real life.:D

LOL careful, they'll see that and add it to the next change log :music_whistling:
