Big hit coming from somewhere. 1.27 running @ 2560 x 1440 non native res smooth except in clouds and close to ground. Dropped to native 1920 x 1080 and looking around cockpit is still jerky, flying close to clouds drops well below 25. Playing offline 1 v 1 dogfight. In options aspect ratio keeps going to 1.77777777, won't hold 16 9. Thanks. System in sig

Hi chilemike,

try turning down your civillian traffic, water and shadow distance. If that doesn't work try turning off vsync

OK, will try and adjust settings and see. have civ traffic off, most everything else on hi. Maybe will roll back drivers, just installed the new NVidia beta's so I could use the FR limiter and still have v sync. CLOD & BOS are running fine. Thanks for the reply

I'm having the same 1.77777 aspect thing and choppy play since 1.28. I didn't change any settings from 1.27 and rolled back the new ATI drivers to 13.9 which didn't seem to help a lot.

guys what is with this aspect ratio 1.77777 thing when 16:9 is set? i think this is causeing problem as i have 5fps drop since update yet there was no visual/ graphical element to the update?

It's the decimal equivalent of 16:9, just how it's shown now.

16 / 9 = 1.7777777777777777777777777777778

you are not the only one with a decreased in performance compare to 1.2.7

zoom into the propeller = fps down to hell which is not happening with the previous 1.2.7 hopefully fix that, it's a shame the performance of this simulator with how great it is

I'll write something that is against to the thread title.

Most bad FPS issues I encountered were in Virtual Aerobatics (multiplayer) server with v1.2.7. It was mostly a slideshow when flying with Mi-8 especially.

But, last night I was there with Mi-8 and everything was perfect actually. I got 50+ FPS with my system.

I'm afraid this is not a rumor, getting very poor FPS overall after the update, reminds me of the first 1.2.8 Beta patch where the same happened. Rolled back the drivers as well...same problem.

Hi guys,

In your experience, are the FPS problems specific to the P51 module, or do they occur across the board for all modules?

Hey wolle, I found the problem to be around all modules, some just have more effect than others, I found the Mustang to give the worst frames of all.

For me, UH-1H, Mi-8, A-10C, P-51D and FC3 are hit by performance issues. For CA I can't make a statement since I have no benchmark mission yet.

I have the same impression. With every new update, my FPS drops down. Once I had settings at medium and had stable 30 fps (which is the minimum for fluid gameplay) and now I have settings at low and my fps drops way below 30. And in the meantime the game looks worse and worse for me because I'm not aiming at high settings but keep reducing them.

Btw. Is it possible to turn off the raising dust effect? When I'm practicing landing with Mi-8 and dust raises, my fps drops below 10 and it is almost impossible to land smoothly. :helpsmilie:

Thanks!

Interestingly I updated the 1.2.8 Open Beta to 1.2.8 and got 10FPS more on it than on the original 1.2.8/7

DCS is now playable so I hope it might help some others having the FPS issue.

Please don't tell me to set my max FPS to 30 and then have me call it butter smooth because its not. 1.2.7 runs great 60 and over, updated to 1.2.8 and I'm dipping below a a good amount of times.
