Ratfink Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 I'm starting to think my next upgrade should be a 27" monitor to replace the 23" Samsung 1080p I currently use. This one seems well regarded http://www1.euro.dell.com/uk/en/business/Peripherals/dell-u2713hm/pd.aspx?refid=dell-u2713hm&cs=ukbsdt1&s=bsd but will my GTX 670 2GB be good enough to drive it with decent fps in DCS? Blooze Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 Absolutely! I use a 27" Viewsonic with a GTX650ti 2GB and it works great. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Sorin Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 2560 x 1440 is the native resolution of that monitor. Your 670 should be enough at medium settings. You will enjoy the wider field of view and image in general.
cichlidfan Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 I have a U2711 that I love. When it was on my flight box I was driving it with a GTX580 with good results, so you should do just fine. hitman Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Ive got 3 of these... http://www.samsung.com/ca/consumer/office/monitors/led/LS27A550HS/ZA
Scoggs Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 (edited) I recommend the monitor I have(see sig). Same size as the dell and its 1440p. I would think its cheaper than the dell since I picked it up for $650(USD) a year ago. Probably cheaper now. Can't speak to how it would run since our CPU and GPU configurations are completely different. But on my set up I run high and go from 50-60 fps depending on what is going on. Python Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 I've got the 144hz Asus VG278HE, all I'll say is definitely go for the higher resolution screen, mine is 1920x1080. As fast and smooth as this screen is the res is noticeably poor against my old 24" screen. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
joey45 Posted June 25, 2014 Posted June 25, 2014 I have the same monitor... I like it. The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance. I sit pretty close to my screen anyway, i think 27 would be too big. That ultrawide thing looks glorious, but probably IPS :_( [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
