Cobra847 Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Yes, we have the R-60M :D we might actually get a chance against THREE flares now! Also I'm assuming that station 6 is JATO? And what is 7? 6 is JATO and bolt on flarepods 7 is indeed smokepipe Nicholas Dackard Founder & Lead Artist Heatblur Simulations https://www.facebook.com/heatblur/
Cobra847 Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 wow can you do a screenshot of the arming interface with all the different bombs? thanks! asap! Nicholas Dackard Founder & Lead Artist Heatblur Simulations https://www.facebook.com/heatblur/
upupandaway Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Thanks for the info. OMG, I so want to try this out. :) And, yes - more screenshots, please. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Deedle, deedle!
Stratos Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Me too, since I visted Kbely museum on my honeymoon I had a Fighbed poster hanging on my wall. Can't wait to fly with and against it. I don't understand anything in russian except Davai Davai!
Serp Supreme Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 6 is JATO and bolt on flarepods 7 is indeed smokepipe Oh Christ never using JATO if I have to make that choice. How do flares work though since they're not actually a part of the aircraft? This post is protected by a pilot who has a serious lack of negotiating skills, but is absolute hell in a dogfight. Cobra847 Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 dude you're awesome thanks EDIT what's the RN-24 and 28 for? Simulated nukes. Nicholas Dackard Founder & Lead Artist Heatblur Simulations https://www.facebook.com/heatblur/
Cobra847 Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Nukes are simulated in dcs mig21? I'd have to ask Novak how he implemented them; but it's rather possible they're just really really big bombs. Nicholas Dackard Founder & Lead Artist Heatblur Simulations https://www.facebook.com/heatblur/
starsky396 Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 So it would be as if one dropped a really, really big bomb, instead of a nuclear blast?
Esac_mirmidon Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 (edited) I´m very interested in this nuclear bomb and how is the deflagration range in DCS. More or less, the Mig-21 RN24 10 kt tactical nuclear bomb could have a total destruction range about 0.5 to 1.5 Km maximum so it´s not totally absurd to adjust the bomb code for that range. The RN28 its only 1 Kt so the range is much more less. Everything inside this range would be destroyed and outside this range for another 2 or 3 Km damaged. Sceptre Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 (edited) Nukes sound like great fun :joystick: Edited July 8, 2014 by Sceptre RTX 2070 8GB | 32GB DDR4 2666 RAM | AMD Ryzen 5 3600 4.2Ghz | Asrock X570 | CH Fighterstick/Pro Throttle | TM MFDs | TrackIR 5
ff4life4 Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Who needs a laser guided bomb, when you can just take out all the tanks at once. This might be more effective than the A10 for destroying stuff... Not recommend for Close Air Support though :smilewink:
Sceptre Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 I like how Falcon 4 did it..... the B-61 thermo nuke was cool to screw around with in SP but most campaigns and multiplayer disabled it because there was an option..... that would be best. Have a check box for mission makers to disallow the use of nukes if they don't want the player to use them. ff4life4 Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 I'm sure it would be disabled on most popular servers. Like 104th and such
Dr_Arrow Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 As I understand it, these are just inert training nukes.
Paradox Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 As I understand it, these are just inert training nukes. RN-28 definitely isn't, I'm not familiar with the RN-24 though.

Have a check box for mission makers to disallow the use of nukes if they don't want the player to use them. That can already be done with any weapon, so it does not need a special checkbox. It would however, be a little easier.
ff4life4 Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 I'd love to drop a nuke during a low altitude dogfight. "If I can't beat you, your at least comign with me" :)
