German Engineering is massively over-hyped. Just look at the Panther, lots of armor, mobility and firepower. Yet, even the later models had operational rates of less than 50%. If it cant make it the fight, it may as well not exist. The allies had plenty of engineering marvels off their own in ww2. It is a nonsensical myth that the Nazi's had better tech than everyone else.

1! I never said that the Germans where better.

2! They had by far much less resources than allied engineers.

3! Also allies had proplems with newly invented things so just stop overhyping your own point of view.

I'll probably fly whatever seems to suit me best or whatever the online server needs. I'm sure everyone will be jumping to play the FW190 at the beginning so I'll probably stick with the P51 then. Really looking forward to the K4 and most of all the P47.

I'll give them credit for putting gun on the nose and for making them higher caliber cannons. My aim is so bad with the P-51 I might stick with the 190 until I get rudder pedals. Unless of course nose mounted guns and significantly stronger shells don't help me at all.

Politics made murdering their forced labor a higher priority than winning the war. In essence, they destroyed their own manufacturing base in the service of ideology. B-17s and B-24s only helped them along.

Hmm, well I am thinking of getting the Dora, Sabre, Fishbed, or no DCS plane, this Summer. If I get the Dora, I will start out with the Dora. If I don't get the Dora, I already own the Mustang and I can use the Mustang. :thumbup:

Hey remember, RL FW190 might be a marvel of German Engineering, but DCS is undoubtedly a product of genius Russian Engineering. And doesn't matter how alienish the actual Dora might fly, if DCS models it a stall fest then it's a stall fest you will get. I bet people will bitchmourn about FMs when their favorite planes fly different from their existing biased experience, but ED will tell them "shut up unless you have flown the real plane" :lol:

I seconded that. I love the 4 cannon setup, feels like carrying a broadsword. It's also historically more accurate to have a8 than d9. Performance wise, A-8 is not an underdog at all. However, the key issue here is whether ED has enough reliable technical data on A-8.

It depends wich Dora he means. The D-12 and D-13 had an enginemounted cannon.

 

The D-11 had two 2cm and two 3cm cannons on the wings.

I would love to see an A-8 at some point, I think there is plenty of info out there to do it.
