Siq6Six Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Ya know, I can only agree with part of your post here. Ya, I'm disappointed to lose out on some planes - but in the end I'm ok with it. At least they gave us a choice in which planes. They saved face, in my eyes. However, the suspicious, cynical side of me still looks at the situation and questions how things REALLY went down. Everybody is assuming RRG went down in flames and ED rushed in to save the day. That's all it is tho. An assumption. ED won't give us the details. One way or another - we got our fall guy. Ilya is gone and it's all his fault... Right? Anyways, I'm not going to go on about it. The people (or one in particular) who've brought the discussion elsewhere have done so BECAUSE THEY WERE SILENCED HERE. That doesn't make them childish or any other insult you want to throw their way. Their posts deleted. Their comments argued down by petty insults. They had no choice to bring it up elsewhere. Separate from that specific situation, I don't blame ED. It's their private forum. This forum is NOT the US, and therefor posters do not have any rights to say what they want to say. In fact, I expect ED to quickly shoot down or remove any posts which contain accusations - false or not. Ya, it lends to more suspicion - but consider the alternative... Example. "Joe smith" has a blog. A reader posts "Joe Smith is a pedaphile". If Joe smith lets the post remain then others may see it and believe it - regardless of accuracy. If he deletes it, then people will say it must be true and he's covering it up! Right? Well, maybe it's not and he simply doesn't want that accusation on his blog. Back on topic - Ofcourse their complaints will be removed. They're serious accusations. However BECAUSE they can't voice & discuss here, they will go elsewhere. You can't honestly expect people to just shut up... However this could be solved if ED wasn't all "We aren't going to discuss the details". [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Demon_ Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Joe Smith is a pedaphile? Attache ta tuque avec d'la broche.
ED Team NineLine Posted July 12, 2014 ED Team Posted July 12, 2014 Look, I understand everyone is tense and upset, etc... but nobody was silenced, yes some posts were deleted, but only the ones that were redundant. And in most cases those people were asked not to post the same thing over and over. No matter the passion and emotion involved here, there are rules, and while I thought I was pretty lax both ways, I and other moderators had to draw the line in certain cases. Sometimes there is more to the story as well. As another note, I am not sure how we are expected to leave comments making false claims and accusations here? Tell what I am supposed to do with that? People want to accuse ED of breaking all these laws, yet people are doing the same by throwing accusations around with no proof what so ever. Some one told me that I should change the wording in one of the statements of my FAQ so that it was honest. But here is the deal, the statements in my FAQ are true based on the information that I was given by ED, I have no reason, not only as a Mod, but as a backer myself to think that anyone at ED is lying to me. I have seen no proof given to me to prove otherwise, and based on Ilya's performance in the past, I sure as hell CAN believe ED had to "swoop in and save the day"... If you can search through those threads and cant find something negative, then I will apologize to you with my next post. But truth is that all opinions were allowed, just not repeated over and over. 1.4. - Posts/threads that undermine the actions of the forum staff, such as opening threads that are redundant, disruptive or deal with topics that have been previously locked, will result in administrative actions against the user. Now I am going out for the afternoon, spend time with my family, then I am gonna come home, work on my Campaign for DCS some more, and relax, I suggest everyone try and do the same... Dogz Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 It is obvious that not everybody will be happy about the new situation, but considering the circumstances and the couple of corrections that ED did to their original reward idea, I think it is really a compromise that most people are satisfied with.

algerad3 Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 I think it is a damn shame . One person went out of his way to create this thread to say thank you for "making my contribution to this project count" no matter what happened. A few "yes , thank yous" later and the attitudes of the post change and got redirected. It would have warmed my soul to have read "Thank you " for the last four pages. Guess we all expect too much from this world. E.D , I would like to say I am grateful for what I am now getting as opposed to what I should of got even though I pledged to the kick starter that promised me more "if" all things went well. At least my first experience with a kick starter did not completely turn into " kicked to the Curb". I hope I made sense. Siq6Six Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Joe Smith is a pedaphile? There's no evidence to support that claim nobody was silenced, yes some posts were deleted, but only the ones that were redundant. (Cut out most cause the multiquotes lengthening my post.) To the first - you deleted one persons repetitive posts, which were responses to other -not deleted- repetitive posts (with underline tones of "hurdur your a retard for even suggesting this!!!"). Either which way, he voiced his opinion. Argument went back and forth. Whatever. This goes to my second point. I'm not arguing your removing of the posts in fact I support it (see: ridiculous ENTIRELY FICTION analogy in previous post [sorry if there is a Joe Smith on these boards]). However I feel about the situation, I'm not going to debate people about it here anymore than I'm going onto a xbox 360 forum to tell them how much the 360 sucks. It is obvious that not everybody will be happy about the new situation, but considering the circumstances and the couple of corrections that ED did to their original reward idea, I think it is really a compromise that most people are satisfied with. Ofcourse not. It's business. You try to please as many as you can. Their last compromise saved face in my eyes and I already made another purchase. I think it is a damn shame . One person went out of his way to create this thread to say thank you for "making my contribution to this project count" no matter what happened. Sure, if he stopped right after his "Thank you" then it would have been great. He couldn't leave it at that nor could others refrain from jumping in on the mud slinging. That is unfortunate. ED Team NineLine Posted July 13, 2014 ED Team Posted July 13, 2014 To the first - you deleted one persons repetitive posts, which were responses to other -not deleted- repetitive posts I will be the first person to admit I am not perfect, thats why there are more than one of use here doing this, as well as ED themselves moderating.... At any rate, its growing stale... we have people that are not happy, and I get that. But nothing is really going to change, beyond some tweaking... not that I expect anymore... so I would really like to start getting excited about development again, and if the others cant get over the changes and how ED is handling it... all I can say is they have spoken their piece and now they need to figure out if they can move past it or move on... not sure what else to say. I dont mean that to sound harsh... but its not open to debate anymore... this is what we have. I plan on making the best of it... anyone else? Siq6Six Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 But nothing is really going to change, beyond some tweaking... Speaking of which...
