Not Possible.

Could you please specify this a bit?

For example, i purchased BS2 at ED and was not able do activate via steam. I dloaded the ed installer and was able to activate it as if i was using the non-steam dcs.

Dang, I've got Friday off, how am I going to preoccupy myself?!

I'd like to know who else does this, I like getting a new aircraft and just sitting in the seat looking around. No manual, no preflight check. Just trying to figure out how to start it without any outside help. Just using deductive reasoning. Not just flipping switches, but trying to think through what the aircraft needs to fly.

Gave up doing that when I couldn't even get my lawn mower started.

To use Licenses Purchased from ED, GameFly or Sources outside of Steam, you need to use the ED's Version/Build of DCS World.

You cannot Activate Externally Purchased Licenses on Steam Anymore.

The Module Installers Provided by ED will only work on ED's Build, it will not detect a Steam Install of DCS World.

So, to Clarify:

If you buy Licenses from Steam you can Use the license on both Steam and ED's Build.

If you buy from ED, Gamefly, etc, You are limited to using ED's build.

Skates. Do you think it might be worth while to break out the videos into their own sticky thread? For example F-86F training video's or however you see fit. Just a suggestion brother. :)

I´m not really a fan of this airplane, but man, does it look GREAT! Overall look is amazing. And Belsimtek nailed it again with great sounds, even it´s very silent in this video.

Oh...and of course, thank You. :-)

That has got to be the simplest start-up procedure to ever hit DCS

So true, Makes the Huey look like a 20 minutes start up! And back then I thought it was to fast! lol

Not fan of how it looks on old graphic engine (external shiny). Luckily there is fix coming! :D

Before someone asks... yes, this video was recorded using an early version of DCS World 2 (2.0.0).

And I would in a heart beat, In fact all my modules have been bought straight from ED. However with the switch to Steam, And no longer being able to move my ED key over which is where I want to keep all my game files / modules on (not run two clients) it's now down to me just waiting till it comes out on Steam.

Honestly I'd think being on Steam ASAP would be to a wider range of buyers quickly.

No disrespect to BST or ED at all! I understand Steam can be a bitch to get along with.

F-86 Sabre packages are up on Steam already, check out the list at the bottom (about 2 hours ago an updated build):

Password protected, so if not launched at the same time then probably a commercial reason rather than technical one.

if the Open Beta Branch comes out Saturday, I think the steam "Open Beta" Branch may get the 1.2.9 update as well.

We'll have to wait and see if a Small Change log shows up between now and release.

Yep, I agree. As I understand it from c0ff the Steam depot FTP upload is just an automatic part of the build process now - plus it wouldn't be ideal for MP to have an ED open beta, Steam open beta (there is still one going in a channel) plus the mainline base DCS World being different.

The F-86 store page, keys etc might not be ready Saturday, but 1.2.9 open beta might be likely to drop at the same time as the ED downloader but on Steam.
