I'd expect more from your system, but all that info is kinda incomplete without mentioning resolution.

Also, is your CPU overclocked?

I'm running at 1360x768

My CPU is overclocked to 4.0Ghz by manufacturer.

System :-

i7-12700K 3.6 GHz 12 core, ASUS ROG Strix Z690-A Gaming, 64GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3200MHz, 24GB Asus ROG Strix Geforce RTX 3090, 1x 500GB Samsung 980 PRO M.2, 1x 2TB Samsung 980 PRO M.2, Corsair 1000W RMx Series Modular 80 Plus Gold PSU, Windows 10. VIRPIL VPC WarBRD Base with HOTAS Warthog Stick and Warthog Throttle, VIRPIL ACE Interceptor Pedals, VIRPIL VPC Rotor TCS Plus Base with a Hawk-60 Grip, HP Reverb G2.

No, my CPU is´nt overclocked.

Here are my settings - forgot to attach them in the previous posting:

Try disabling aero interface. I gained a few fps doing that.

Wow, TSSAA? Try turning that off.

With TSSAA off I´m still inside the same frame range - I think it´s a bit strange that changes in MSAA, VSYNC or TSSAA don´t have bigger impacts on the fps.

But the module is playable for me - sometimes there are a few fps drops while flying but overall it works.

And as LN is still working on it I´ll just be patient and wait on what the next update will bring us :)

Thanks for your advice regarding the settings - think I´m gonna try a few different configurations to see if any of it has a significant impact on the fps.

Also bear in mind that nvidia control panel settings can have a big impact!

Funny enough no performance problems so far on my, I guess "medium", system : i7-3770 3.4 GHz, 16GB RAM and a GTX 660 Ti

Not measured, just "felt", everything is smooth in the two missions (startup and takeoff training) so far.

I´ve tried a few more things now.

Created a new default profile in nVidia control panel - AA and stuff like that to application controlled.

In DCS I used custom settings as well as presets - even "Low" - which doesn´t make much of a difference. Around 60 fps on Low / High ..

When I look down in the MiG 21 cockpit I also get about 60fps - but as soon as I look up the frames go down.

Tried following other aircrafts then which was fine and I had around 60fps again. Changed the camera angle and as soon as MiGs were in the frame the fps dropped down.

Not sure if this is of any help regarding the fps issue with the MiG - just my findings.

That's due to the excessive LoDs they've used for the external model. It's known and probably a good way towards being fixed. :)

I took a look at the wonderful MIG-21 Cockpit in the modelviewer -> 365.000 triangles and 95 Textures. It's probably the bigget modul in DCS. Some PC's may not handle this. I'm on 34 to 36 Frames ...

Quickie update: We have made excellent progress in optimizing performance. Primarily we have reduced drawcalls overstressing the CPU & GPU by batching materials together.

In some cases, we have noted performance improvements that have doubled the framerate.

Note, however, this may change and there are no guarantees of such large improvement just yet. :)

Excellent news! Can you give a rough estimate as to when this update will come? I promise I won't be a pain in your ars in case you have to postpone it...

Thanks for the update and attention to the matter Cobra. I noticed ED is pushing an update today in OB. Is it a possibility that Mig-21 updates will come with the main version?

l have the exact question in mind. Would be great if the answer is affirmative, although l highly doubt it.

The revision of the MiG-21 that is included in the update is from September 19th. Thus; most of the changes that have been done in reaction to the launch are not fixed in it.

FFB Sticks are, however, fixed. We will post a changelog ASAP.

Thanks for the reply Cobra. A little disappointed about the FPS fix not making it in the update, but I understand you guys want this to be a solid fix for everyone.

Are we looking at waiting for another official ED update before we see the major fixes or is this something that can be handled internally at Leatherneck with your own updates?
