After reading into the I-16, it appears to be slower in the cruise and dive when compared to the 109 but has a better climb rate at low altitudes and can out tun a 109. It is also a smaller target with similar firepower and a reliable power plant up front.

So it may be able to give the 109 a run for its money. It sounds like a good turn fighter and if a pilot can drag the 109 down low and get into a turn fight then it may hold the upper hand.

Looking forward to this aircraft.

System Specs: i7 8700k @ 5.0GHz (not delidded), ASRock Extreme4 Z370 MOBO, EVGA GTX 1080 SC 8GB, 32GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200MHz DDR4 RAM, Samsung Evo 240GB SSD, Samsung Evo 500GB SSD, 1TB HDD, Noctura NH-D15S Heat Sink, Acer VE278H 27" 1080p Monitor, Ocukus Rift CV1.

Controllers: TrackIR 5, Thrustmaster HOTAS X, Saitek Throttle Quadrant (with DIY removable collective mod), Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals.

The main problem of the I-16 is its engine, really. It's powerful enough (Don't expect to outrun a 109 though), but it lacks a carburettor, which means it'll cut out quickly in negative G maneuvers.

Other than that, it easily outturns most if not all German fighters. Firepower is good (Especially on variants that add a couple cannons), and it's just fun to fly overall. Great little plane !

but it lacks a carburettor
Do you mean it lacks a fuel injection system? Because conventional carburetors cut out under negative G.

I didn't forget)) It was just too small update) We are practicing a spin now and teaching our airplane to do tuck-under break.

Man, DCS is going to drive the rest of the flight sim world out business. Hope y'all are planning to put a few more aircraft like this into DCS. She looks fantastic! Any plans on a roadmap?
