javelina1 Posted December 7, 2014 Posted December 7, 2014 What is the latest status on this? It might be worth getting a spare if this is a weak spot for the stick Indeed. I may do that myself as well. providing they're still available. MSI MAG Z790 Carbon, i9-13900k, NH-D15 cooler, 64 GB CL40 6000mhz RAM, MSI RTX4090, Yamaha 5.1 A/V Receiver, 4x 2TB Samsung 980 Pro NVMe, 1x 2TB Samsung 870 EVO SSD, Win 11 Pro, TM Warthog, Virpil WarBRD, MFG Crosswinds, 43" Samsung 4K TV, 21.5 Acer VT touchscreen, TrackIR, Varjo Aero, Wheel Stand Pro Super Warthog, Phanteks Enthoo Pro2 Full Tower Case, Seasonic GX-1200 ATX3 PSU, PointCTRL, Buttkicker 2, K-51 Helicopter Collective Control
Phantom_Mark Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 Just in case it is any use to someone, I have a "almost new condition" flight stick here with less than 1hrs use on it, I am only using the Throttle these days after finishing my modded MSFF2 :pilotfly: ,it could go to a new home for sensible money if someone needs one.
Thorvald Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Well mine finally broke too... I just emailed customer service and we'll see what they say. If it turns out they are not available anymore I'll likely hand-craft one out of aluminum. At least then I know it will last (of course they likely the outer piece will break lol). Too bad someone with a little CNC spare time could not whip up a couple. For this expensive of a stick I think they could charge a pretty penny. Berndt Mangler Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 (edited) When you all tear in to your sticks, will you pull the white alignment ring off the black Pressure Cap. I feel like there are more than than just mine and the parts I'm getting from TM that are cracked and deformed. I've been watching this thread, this cap could be a contributor to the broken gimbal. I don't know, just curious. LeadDoctor Posted December 12, 2014 Author Posted December 12, 2014 Update Emailed Thrustmaster technical support again back in November. Here's the reply in regards to ordering a new gimbal. "We thank you for your reply and for providing us with that video. The component that failed on your unit is not available as a spare part and consequently we cannot provide you with a replacement unit. The only long time reliable solution is the acquisition of a new base. The base (without the metal plate and the joystick handle) is available as a spare part and it can be supplied to you." So there you have it. AMD 955, Asus M4A79t, 12GB 1600 cas7 Mushkin red line and black line, EVGA 670 FTW, Samsung 840 SSD 250GB, Samsung spin point 620GB x3 extra storage.
Chief1942 Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 I suspect someone with one of those 3D printers and the talent to use it, could reproduce these gimbals quite handily. Certainly would be a market in light of Thrustmaster's decision to quit supporting all their customers needs. Intel i5-4690K Devil's Canyon, GForce TitanX, ASUS Z-97A MB, 16GB GDDR3 GSkill mem, Samsung SSD X3,Track IR, TM Warthog, MFG Crosswind pedals, Acer XB280HK monitor,GAMETRIX KW-908 JETSEAT

tommytank Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 I got nowhere with TM for my broken gimbal, even though it was <12 months old. They offered to sell me a new base unit; but it wasn't much less than buying a new stick:mad:

313_Nevo Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 thats not very good advertisement for TM :(

Worse, they accused me of damaging the stick because I continued to use it when it had broken!
audax Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 We can chose between Saitek with bad support and quality and Thrustmaster with bad support and quality or we can use completely outdated CH products. CH should create a new line of high end products…
PureEvil Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 CH should create a new line of high end products… Their current high end products line is working better than anything else on the market. STEAM asus p8z68-v gen3, 2600k@4,5ghz(w/c), 16gb, 1080ti(w/c), ch fighterstick/gvl224-4000-8, ch pro throttle, Oculus Rift CV1+Touch, thrustmaster tx
MTFDarkEagle Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 My TM WH has worked without flaw since I got it, quite soon after it was released. One thing happened with it: trim switch faulty. Sent it, got a new stick back (this was under warrenty though). Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread
tommytank Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 The CH fighterstick is pretty good, but I found the trim functions a bit twitchy, and it lacks a couple of the button functions that the Warthog has (2-stage trigger, depressable CMS switch).
a1adin Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 (edited) I am still using my CH flightstick pro, fighterstick, pro throttle and pro pedals. all were gameport version which I have converted them into usb using mmjoy, and changing all the pots into hall sensor. I have used them since 1990s, so now they are about 20 years old. I agree they are somewhat outdated now, that's why I bought TM Warthog, but they still do the job, which my 2 weeks warthog can not. simo1000rr Posted April 13, 2017 Posted April 13, 2017 I had the same issue last month ( the inner gumball broke in half , check pics ) . i dont know how it happened since my joystick has been only used for a year and half, Anyway i contacted TM support and after exchanging too many emails with pics and parts numbers they told me w are sorry we dont have support in your Area ( i live in kuwait ) . im like what the hell , you sell your product internationally , you are not supposed to have support every where but duh thats what shipping company are there for. i can ship it to you lazy ass m***th F***r . so i contacted Amazon ( this where i got it from ) and sent them a copy of the emails of TM support. Amazon dispatched a new one before i hang up with them. I will never order any of TM shitty product. Im waiting for the Monogoose to be available and im getting one.
