[NOTED] Radar IFF not working in multiplayer

Not for sure if this is an issue with non-MiG-21 aircraft or just a bug (haven't tried it on a friendly MiG-21), but IFF isn't working at all when pressed, aircraft was not locked, of course.

The radar does not show "=" nor "-", the (inverted) "T" will not change at all?

Correct, all I see is the inverted T.

I may be doing something wrong, but I don't think so. Radar on, targets not locked, the IFF panel switches on as well as the IFF on the left next to the Guncam on

I flew with 2 friends in same mission and we set IFF's to same settings all three. One saw me as friendly all the time and I saw him back the same but the third saw the second as enemy all the time. I had no contact durring that mission with the 3rd friend so I couldn't test more... but we will do it again.

One of my other squadron members is having the same issue. When he first got the Mig the IFF system worked normally. Now he no longer gets a "=" or "-" all he sees is the T or inverted T as per normal radar mode. We've verified his cockpit settings and tried on repeated flights with no luck.

I had the same issue last night in multiplayer. I was tracking a contact and it remained as an inverted T on the radar. I hesitated to fire and got myself shot down instead :)

Just happened to me too, first time trying the 21 in MP, searched and it looks like this still a problem.

We're tracking and fixing a bug related to this.

Any update on this?

Don't forget to flip the switch labeled "TYP 81" (IIRC), the IFF worked fine for me in MP just a few days ago.

Hmm, sounds like my problem lies between the seat and stick

Thanks! This kind of thing is very important because it is not included in the cold start tutorial, and it is already turned on for you in the air-to-air tutorials.

Know and use all the capabilities in your airplane. If you don't, sooner or later, some guy who does use them all will kick your ass.

Maybe I missed that one in the manual. Thank you very much for the visual. Had an issue on the ACG jets last night where I had a fur ball in front of me and couldn't differentiate. Least to say that both sides were mad at dieing.

It's not mentioned in cold start tutorial, but it's there in manual allright.

I too am confused. The manual mentions the two IFF switches but does not tell what they are doing. It tells to turn on only one of them (page 80):

СРЗО SRZO "IFF" On RV35 At this point you are ready to taxi.

So we seem to need to turn on both - one to see and one to be seen. Shame there are no key bindings for them. I have everything else automated with one flip of the switch.

Both switches (one near the RWR switch and the one on CB panel) are related to the IFF interrogation, both need to be switch on for your IFF to work.

IFF in DCS is simulated at very basic level. The transponder doesn't need to be turned on in other to be identified by other planes. That's the case for all DCS modules.

IFF is working fine for me in MP.

And yes.. you need to turn on the right switches, it is on the kick start up procedures of the manual.
