DCS building HD overhaul

AAAAND that's with pleasure that I release to you the final version of my mod (available on the first page).

It so features :

 

- 20 HD buildings with near and distant LOD.

- Transition is made from 3 km instead of 5km in the alpha, it should improve fps, and currently looks very good for me.

- This mod so includes 5 .lua files changing the view distance, compatible with more-visibility. The concerned lines are the 58 and 59, distance was put to 3500 and 3000 for high and more-visibility options, 2500 and 2000 for medium, and 1500 and 1000 for low !

 

Very long and boring work, I really hope you'll enjoy it ;)

Nicolas..so..finally..this is pretty much one of the most eagerly awaited mods ever..I just want to thank you very very much. The result is awesome. It makes DCS a complete new experience! THANK YOU!!!!:thumbup:

There has been some work, seeing you enjoying it is the best reward ;)

 

But now the templates are done, I may easily add some buildings which I left aside.

 

The next update, which will come for february-march (except if edge is out before) will feature a new stadium, some 2 floors buildings and the 3 floors that I didn 't touch at, and some airbase infrastructure, like the control tower, the maintenance hangar (I saw that Ricardo was working on it so maybe not), the big ugly industrial hangars, and the central with the 3 chimneys.

 

If you understood my poor english, you'll see that it's only the beginning ;)

Any chance for the list of texture that were modified? for us that already have the game modified on that archive :D .

Ok so here is the next monthe's roadmap :

 

1)Reworking the Hotel_a (or b don't remember) which disgusts me everytime I see it and makes me wonder why oh God Why dit I let it in the final version...?

 

 

2)Then remaking the textures of a total of 19 new buildings (Yes you know, I love pain... No but really, I love it, it's my reason for living ;) ), buildings which are :

 

-The various airport hangars/factories (except the ones Ricardo touched at, cause he's better than me so I won't loose time at making work he already did....... ^^).

-The control tower if I ****in find it !

-The 4 missing buildings from the categories I yet touched at (3 floors).

-The Railway and Road bridges (no I won't remake too the giant "Harry Potter" one, just forget about it and get out ;) ).

-A garage (yes I need it for my Kamov...)

-A "shop" (yes I need it to buy some ammo).

-The School (Yes I need it to fire my ammo on it, and honestly : have you ever heard about a school in DCS ? Well so for your culture, yes there are some, I just discovered them...). ^^

-The let's call it "3 chimney central".

-Perhaps the nuclear central if I find it.

-Perhaps the Fuel silos if I find them (you know the ones you find by six or nine...).

-The polyclinica (yes they too have some hospitals in Georgia, that's pretty amazing dude...).

-The Stadium, which should be full of surprises.

-The Mosque (don't thank me don't thank me).

Because I'm a very funny guy (yes yes I am), and that I'm a frenchie, I'll had an easter-egg, codename "Where-is-charlie ?", you may spend a lot of time looking for him.......... Or not ;).

Hi Nicolas.

I played around with the mod yesterday and noticed, that the high.lua still has a transition distance of 6000m (line 58, 59)...

As I added that manually to the Ground texture mod, I simply changed it to 3500 and 3000, but you may want to doublecheck that one.

Ow DANG, I forgot to modify it ! I will write it on the first page, and then change the pack in the hour... Thank you for the information...

 

Edit : there too was an error in the medium one, I made a mistake and modified the 57 and 58 insteand of the 58 and 59.

 

It's fixed, I'm uploading the new version, should be available in 1 hour ;)

If you are referring to the bridges, that is fine. I just want them to look nicer when I fly under them. :D
