golani79 Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Just started a mission in the dark - I can use the panel flood lights and activate the UV Rheostat which lights up the instruments but after a short while they go dark again. Has anyone else tried it or experienced the same problem? >> DCS liveries by golani79 <<
ED Team BillyCrusher Posted February 26, 2015 ED Team Posted February 26, 2015 Rheostat shouldn't be at Max position for long time. This position for lamp ignition only. After light in on, you need turn the rheostat a bit counterclockwise or lamp will blow. Blown lamps can be replaced by repair. arriflex Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Do you just crank up the rheostat to light the lamps or are there switches?
golani79 Posted March 2, 2015 Author Posted March 2, 2015 No switch - just The rheostats. >> DCS liveries by golani79 <<
msalama Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015  This incredible amount of detail not only blows my cockpit light bulbs it seems, but my MIND. What a magnificent aircraft! The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.

BitMaster Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 LoD !!! Get the wheel blocks in place and set your turbine to something above idle... The crew will refuse to take them off again unless you idle, drove me nuts till I found that out as I set for 48Volts right after starting the turbine and disconnect external power. The thing is, they disconnect external power at any power setting ( well, all that I tested, up to 6.5k taxi rpm ) but not the wheel blocks. I think this is great as it adds so much to what I expect from a simulation. Big Peltch Posted November 8, 2018 Posted November 8, 2018 Really neat, but annoying after a while. Took me sometime to realize this problem.

zeufman Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 Instrument Lightning seems definitively broken with DCS 2.5. rheostat to up to 50 %, wait for a time ( 60-90 sec ), and Nothing change. Wait for two minutes, always Nothing. Up to 100% and down 80 %, Nothing. I can see in the debrief that i haven't blow up the UV lamp. Unable to fly at nicht

Unable to fly at nicht Works for me in 2.5.4 stable: Turning rheostat to 100%, when the white line on the panel begins to glow blue, turn down the rheostats a bit. It seems the fluorescent(?) paint on the instruments needs a bit of activation time. See both screenshots, the intensity increases after some time. edit: fixed typo Edited February 1, 2019 by gulredrel
zeufman Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 yes you re right, it need to set 100% for the first time, and down a bit after the fluo light appear. Many thanks to you
