oscar19681 Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Are there any known improvements for CA ik dcs world 2 ? Better terrain, stabilisation for tanks And no more superhuman AI for example? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Chromius Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 The big question for me is, even though the new trees are collidable for objects, will they affect AI LOS for spotting and affect munitions. As it stands now trees do not offer any cover. Hopefully the new terrain and trees improves this aspect of DCS in general. Also, hopefully more time will go into improving CA in general after DCS 2 is released.
ED Team NineLine Posted June 25, 2015 ED Team Posted June 25, 2015 Just the fact that the maps are higher quality *should* improve the experience of being on the ground, better trees, better object models... then add in the stuff they are developing for CA outside of 2.0... I think its only going to get better and better. Forum Rules • My YouTube • My Discord - NineLine#0440• **How to Report a Bug**
Jumbik Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 So what improvements Will dcs world 2 have for CA? The question is not what/if, but when. :( Do, or do not, there is no try. -------------------------------------------------------- Sapphire Nitro+ Rx Vega 64, i7 4790K ... etc. etc.
Silver_Dragon Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 surely after DCS: W 2 release, but no date estimations. For Work/Gaming: 28" Philips 246E Monitor - Ryzen 7 1800X - 32 GB DDR4 - nVidia RTX1080 - SSD 860 EVO 1 TB / 860 QVO 1 TB / 860 QVO 2 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Warthog / TPR / MDF
DarkFire Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 Yep, I think Wags has commented several times in videos that at some point Combined Arms will be in for a major update, which is very good news. The more "combined arms" operations we can create, the more realistic the sim will be as a whole. System Spec: Cooler Master Cosmos C700P Black Edition case. | AMD 5950X CPU | MSI RTX-3090 GPU | 32GB HyperX Predator PC4000 RAM | | TM Warthog stick & throttle | TrackIR 5 | Samsung 980 Pro NVMe 4 SSD 1TB (boot) | Samsung 870 QVO SSD 4TB (games) | Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. Personal wish list: DCS: Su-27SM & DCS: Avro Vulcan.
Flycat Posted August 27, 2015 Posted August 27, 2015 infantry get skeleton, maybe they could be controled in the future. DCS: infantry LOL
Slazi Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Yeah, DCS infantry would be... Better AI is the most important. That and the ability for troops to occupy buildings.
pepin1234 Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 If ED improve in the 1.5 two things... 1- the AI ability to shot through the forest, 2 - improve the AI armor reaction when we get into the visual field (I have not time to ambush from behind a couple of armors, they turn the turret and kill me) Only these two things will be awesome. Vivoune Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 I didn't spend a lot of time playing CA, but I never regretted investing in it just for the huge potential it has and the whole new dimension it brings to DCS as a whole should that potential be met. I can't wait for CA to get an overhaul. Afterall, it's solely because of what's happening on the ground that we get up in the air. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Zimmerdylan Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 I hope that this doesn't get me into trouble but I have to say it. I have been playing around with CA and in 1.5, I really don't see too many improvements to the overall picture. I notice the new sights, some details are better, but it has a ways to go to meet some people's expectations I think. When I first got into it a few days back, It brought the old Battlefield 2 game to mind. Which is fine because I still play BF2 from time to time and enjoy it. But to my thinking, DCS is a flight oriented sim. The ground forces are secondary. I don't mind if it's not on the same level as the AC. So long as the ground units function well enough to make the air combat aspect a challenge, it's all I need. I rarely if ever play around in the ground units.
pepin1234 Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 (edited) Sorry if this an old improvement and I did not notice before. I tested yesterday the switch off the radar in Tunguska. Look pretty realistic for real tactics. First we need better objects, new textures etc. Nevada is the very first new map after the Black Sea and ED is already working on this and ready to developing the very awaiting NEVADA. This Map bring new technology and the adds will take some time. After that we are ready for new stuff for CA. BUT trees and the armory units is the big problem for the CA users. Every body here know very well how is the feeling when your armor squad is destroyed by a couple of tanks behind the forest... Even the low flight attack is spotted by AAA through the forest. We can expected mortars squad playable with real procedure, as well ATGM portable player with TOW or RU counterpart, etc etc etc... Lots Ideas but all does not work if the trees are with the same behavior Edited October 13, 2015 by pepin1234 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
