I spent hours yesterday downloading DCS to my small hard drive

that has Win10 latest version and all my nvidia drivers

and things are up to date.

When I start TIR5 and then DCSW, everything is just fine.

I chose to do a take off from the single player Dora, and

that loads up and just before I hit the FLY button, the

computer screens go black and the entire PC crashes.

is fine. When I re-boot to WIN 10, I have problems with DCSW.

DCS doesnt use DX12, and Windows 10 is not released yet, Support for it will likely be minimal,

that being said, I've had no issues installing the latest 1.2 build and all modules on Windows 10 10162 Fine.

Your issue may be a GPU Driver related issue.

Did you also overclock the Graphics card?

Overclocking is hardly worth it. 4Fps. faster than not clocked is hardly worth the headaches from having it overclocked. But do as you will of course.

Take a look at the search function for systems like yours overclocked, you will see some had to remove the overclock to get it stable (DCS) others have had success with just removing the overclock on the CPU.

The instant "Black Screen" would lead one to believe it is GPU Driver related. This black screen is also related to the C++ Redistributed files. I would update those first. All of them. From microsofts' page of course.

Yes, double check MSVC Libraries, as well as DirextX9,

I'm also running DCS World on a portable just for testing. Works nicely in fact on Windows 10 build 10162. But setting Windows 10 to be the primary gaming rig is a bit early, wait for the release.

DCS and my PC crashes in win 10

OK, so I went back and it crashed again. this time I had my GPU's not over clocked.

I am using Win 10 Pro insider preview build 10162

and nvidia drivers ver 353.30

This win 10 is set up as a duel boot on a separate hard drive

not my primary win 8.1 OS that I mostly use.

The computer OS crashed at 11:33pm by my clock on the wall, which is very

close to pc clock.

I will upload the dx log and the memory dump.

Thank You for Your help !!!

Mike

The mem dump wont upload. its 700 megs in size.

I keep getting a message from ED manage attachments.

I will go and check DX9 and I dont even know what a MSVC library is ? ( MS has got to

be Microsoft )

I tried to install DX9C and it will not allow me to do so ?????

I would have thought DCSW would have included that in the download

of the entire program.

Here is the message I received.

"Cyber Power 850 AVR voltage regulator power backup" - check the output Wattage, it might only be 510w... and trying to feed your (listed) 1050w PSU, and with all that gear

That too crossed my mind while reading his specs. Sense he didn't mention crashes in other programs I ruled it out. Still a possibility if he doesn't use other software in the same environment.

system idling may be fine, but when the load goes on... anyway, it was put out as a possibility

spent the afternoon updating Windows 10 to 10162 and to the last released DCS build (NVidia has a WHQL driver for Windows 10 now  ) looking very nice and no crash...

Windows 10 RTM will be available to fast ring later this week, that may be better to use for a test rig on your gaming desktop (dual boot).
