Yea, let's modify an event that has for the last 11 months catered to the entire community and make it so only people with certain modules can join.

Great idea.

You obviously have NO idea what you are talking about. BF WWII didn't cater to the whole community but they enjoyed it. Suck it up and wait two weeks for Round 8 and let those who've been waiting for a Korean theater have a week of fun, or better yet, buy the module and be a part of it.

Thanks all for the feedback, requests and concerns.

Let me update on the current status with our future events and the BuddySpike team.

At the moment we are working on a few things:

  1. New concept that we will introduce once ready, this concept is based on several ideas of continuity and persistence while keeping competitiveness and more!
Will say no more until we have a good POC to showcase.

  2. Korea variant of BF, this variant will complete the cycle of available eras - WWII, Korea, 80s/70s, modern.
It's one of our goals to run BF variants in a cycle which will let all DCS community the availability for this concept.

  3. New features, we are working on new features, some of them are still being created, some already ready - Standalone Radio (Ciribob has created Standalone Simple Radio), Administration tools(already built and running), Statistics, introducing new elements in BF and more.

  4. AOS, we have raised Ace Of Spades Dogfights League once again.
It is running on DCS ISRAEL most of the week and is available already for use.

These are the established things that are currently moving forward.

The Team is also busy in RL stuff and things are moving slowly then usual but we are busy at a good time as ED is releasing a big update this weekend and we should be ready to start testing afterwards.:music_whistling:

So to all of you who are waiting for our next event, Winter is coming (some say it is already here ;))

Great idea.

- You obviously missed the WW2 event: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=163385

- There are also people out there, who don't fly modern aircraft and were excluded from all the events, except the WW2 one.

- It's just one event and then it will be back to modern times again.

Thanks for the update Xcom.

Looking forward to the Korea variance of Blue Flag.

As always, we are available to assist / test anytime you may need.

Thanks for update, can't wait to see more. One question that might save a lot of discussions on the Korea variant: would it be possible to list playable units that will be included in it?

F/A-18, F-16, F-14, M-2000C, A-10C, AV-8B, AJS-37 Viggen, F-5E-3, F-86F, MiG-21bis, MiG-15bis, L-39 Albatros, C-101 Aviojet, P-51D, Spitfire LF Mk. IX, Bf 109 4-K, UH-1H, Mi-8, Ka-50, NTTR, Normandy, Persian Gulf... and not enough time to fully enjoy it all

Should only be the Sabre and the Fagot and perhaps the Mustang. I hope that will be the case. But I can imagine there will be UH-1s and Mi-8s as well.

Disagree completly on Korea, if you build it they will come! There is plenty of room for fun outside the F-15.

Yeah, the people with the modules will come. I will be there since I have the F86 although I'd rather not even mess with a Korean era blueflag. There will be A LOT less people able to even join and fly and the lack of era applicable ground units just makes it not really fun.

Also, how are both teams going to have a ground attack? It's not like the red team has anything really viable to use in the era except the Mig.

No need to be nasty to someone who has a good point. So what if there are enough people registered with the modules to make it fun for them. It leaves a lot of people out. Again, I have the modules and will be able to, but that doesn't change the fact that it leaves a lot of people out and that's all he was trying to say.

Yea, that's what I was saying, but I did come off as an entitled jackass.

I don't think he was being nasty just to be nasty - it's just a response to my posts' tone. He's right - WWII was pretty awesome I heard. Suck it up and play Korea or wait for the next round.

I would think both sides having the Mustang would work out. There are some good Russian camo skins for the Mustang that would make it very distinguishable from a bare metal Mustang.

I am really looking forward to Korea, I think it will be a blast.

On a side note, Sniper are you really in UT?

Lets see what BS team has to propose. They wouldn't decide on Korea setup without a good plan how to run it. I would assume that realizing the event with just 2-3 planes: Mig-15, Sabre and possibly Mustang would be difficult.

The BF was about balancing the features based on what's available in DCS at the moment not necessarily being fully historically correct. I would not be surprised to see Mi-8, Huey and maybe Mig-21 and F-5E if it's available on time.

I think maybe a few 'Captured' sabres and migs on each side would be a nice feature

War is easy and is just like riding a bike. Except the bike is on fire and the ground is on fire and you are on fire and you realise you are in hell :joystick:

Better start practicing then with those FAB50 and FAB100. I'm proficient enough to were I can get two FAB50's within a 5m radius. Again those more proficient in the modules will be better than those who just buy it skip the manual and think they're Col. Blesse.

Know and use all the capabilities in your airplane. If you don't, sooner or later, some guy who does use them all will kick your ass.

Five mile? ;) Just kidding. Impressive with the Mig, I am lucky to get them in a 50 meter radius, guess I need to practice more.

Yup over and over and over. Get the 467th range targets, select unlimited ammo and go at it for an hour a day with full take offs and landings and after a week you'll surprise yourself

Pls don't. That would just cause a huge problem with IFF and is not really realistic.

A good server doesnt need to include everyone all the time if it has a solid idea, that will likely only help the normal round, and no I'm not an entitled jackwagon, I just speak the truth for a lot of people waiting on Korea, and want a break from the same thing we've seen since WWII.

MiG Can carry 2 bombs and has the big 30mm cannon, Red will figure it out like we always do and rise victorious.

Well, it all depends on Red's ground attack capabilities I think. I have both the Mig-15 and the Sabre and in the Sabre it's extremely easy to be very effective with ground strike (especially with the rockets, but also with the assisted bombing). With the Mig however I just gave up. The slightest deviation in angle, speed and altitude will make you miss a smaller target, so you need to be perfect. Which is fine, of course, were it not such an extremely boring thing to practice. ^^ Are there people who are that good with a Mig in divebombing? Apparently yes, but I do not expect those people to be many tbh. It mostly depends on the question of what we're facing in the event. Stuff up to the M113 can be dealt with by the cannon, but things with more Armor (LAV, Bradley etc.) need a direct (!!!) hit with the bombs, and I just do not see that happening with the Mig on a regular basis. I just hope the situation with ground capability and targets presented will keep the necessary skilllevel on a reasonable scale (and no, training for hours day in and day out to get perfect with the Mig in divebombing for one event is not reasonable ^^), otherwise I fear this will devolve into an Airquake at least on Red's part. But I guess the BS-guys already know that anyway and will plan accordingly.

If its made with a MiG Alley theme, we could bypass alot of the MiG a/g stuff, might get boring though.

Bollocks, now it seems like I have to learn that Sabre I bought and left to rot in the basement :D

Seriously now, I very much like the idea of every next round being a different era. There are many reasons for that. It gives BS team time to work on a certain period fixes and improvements until the cycle is full, and it gives everyone a chance to play.

Don't ask, here's the answer: 95% of my posts are edited because I have OCD.

Update -

Ace Of Spades - The Ace Factor in Ace Of Spades has been updated, one of the calculations was not entirely correct which led to wrong data in the pilots table.

Issue is now fixed and the table shows the correct Ace Factor data retrospective and moving forward.

Can be seen here - http://89.163.173.82/DCS/AoS/Player.php

Blue Flag - We will start the new Blue Flag round testing this weekend hopefully.

More information on the round will be published soon.
