Pilotasso Posted May 25, 2006 Posted May 25, 2006 BS 1.2 all aircraft have standard flight model and you will be able to fly it with the F-15 pit. Since both aircraft use similar AA weapons and the AMPG-65 is not much more short ranged that the f-15's APG-63, it could be a good consolation untill a new SIM. No AG ordnance though. Unless LUA in 1.2 gets realy wiked. ;) .

Trident Posted May 25, 2006 Posted May 25, 2006 I'd absolutely adore a Hornet. Especially if accompanied by a MiG-29K ;) That would be a perfect match-up. 1

GGTharos Posted May 25, 2006 Posted May 25, 2006 A hornet's home is wherever it flies from. Canada and Switzerland have no carriers. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda

Alfa Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 Heheh people might talk... I agree that the Hornet definately belongs on a carrier.... ;) Cheers, - JJ. JJ
Camoman Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 Add me too this one, but i think ill have to keep dreamin bout that one...Strike missions in a hornet... =IronAngels= Http://www.ironangelslockonsquad.com Iron Angels Lockon Squad Iron Angels: The Proud, The Few, The Elite
Pilotasso Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 I agree that the Hornet definately belongs on a carrier.... ;) Cheers, - JJ. Hornet on carrier means you will see water most of the flight time. It would be fun but the idea of a carrierless hornet doent bother me much. .

Pilotasso, you`d be to busy watching the D-link and properly functioning NAV:) , checking heck-times and before you know it - feet dry:helpsmilie: Also, FPS over water!:) - especially when flying in large strike groups and complex flight deck ops... I would even tolerate some of these Turkeys flying... recon, with their TARPS and stuff:D
Force_Feedback Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 What about Finland, Spain, Kuwait, Australia and Malaysia? Those Finnish f-18s taking off from some road, while taxiing in the forest, those pics of it look so damn cool. I suspect Ukraine had a similar concept, but it involved a city, in which the main streets were quite wide and had taxiways on each side, I found it in Google earth. It may wery well have been something else, but the streets are awfully straight for like 2.5km, after which the road surface changes and there are some bends. The taxiways are present as well, the bunkers are unspottable, but there are connecting roads, yet they lack the web-like taxiways seen in many German and also Ukrainian bases. Maybe it's just the city design, having two straight strips of concrete, and asphalt everywere else. BTW, the road connecting Kiev with its international airport was made to support landing aircraft, in the Cold War era. They even shot a part of the movie "Unreal adventures of Italians in Russia" over there, landed a real tu-134 (no CGI in the late 60ies) on the road, and even let cars drive along with the tu-134 while it was taxiing :P Creedence Clearwater Revival:worthy:

If ED ever decided to create a Hornet sim:dunno: , I`m sure they`d give you an option to operate from an airbase. They could even make a different damage model for the "flimzy" Hornets:) j/k (I know, they almost the same:/) Oh, all east-european coutries had/have these landing strips.
