I take it this site doesn't get much traffic then. Like, if someone asks a question on a normal day, it may be days before there's a reply?

You normally get a quick reply as long as you ask a question in a reasonable manner :)

It wouldnt have hurt to briefly explain why the previous thread was closed!!

Yes it was "off topic" but hey!

Maybe the whole community was on there (900+ users)

In my book - thats a good thing.

I was on there most of the evening yesterday and although 1.5 was delayed there was a real sense of us all being in the same boat and a lot of positive comments and appreciation for the efforts ED were going through to keep us all updated as best they could....and then suddenly bam!...thread closed!!

Yes there was the occassional "are we there yet" - "what about steam" - "its still not here" comments by a very small number of posters but my impression was a lot of people excited and chatting etc.

There may well be very sensible reasons for closing the thread - but please...a brief explanation would have been helpful...

My two cents...

I just wanted to start a "Thank You"-thread, but looks like I'm not the only one, so I'll post here:

Well done ED! You guys did a really great job handling the update. You kept us updated through the forums and facebook about what's going on and I really appreciated it. I can only imagine the effort that you guys put in to it, so again: Thank you ED, that was nicely done!

Now I'm gone for a while to dive into DCS World 1.5 :)

To everyone at ED. Great job!

Still some issues with servers as I can see, but I had the best free flight ever.

The game looks AWESOME now. Thank you.

Amazing job ED. The previous rendering engine could barely produce playable framerates on my machine with FX-8350 and R9 290X. Now the framerate is through the roof with maxed out settings. Feels so much better now, and it's much easier to really enjoy the excellent flight models now that the framerate is smooth. Better graphics is also a nice bonus, and there are lots of other nice things about 1.5 so thank you so much!

GOOD JOB and THANK YOU!

Gentleman, I'd like to say to all involved - GOOD JOB and THANK YOU!

I have to admit that I was afraid of another delay but you showed all the snarky buggers like me how it's done! My apologies for doubting you.

I just flew a quick mission in the Su25 (killing evil enemy trucks, got all of them bastards:-)) and it is wonderful! Even on my aging PC with all details maxed it was smooth as silk. The new effects are beautiful, the water and especially the beaches are lovely, the hires terrain textures make incredible difference, flying over cities is amazing. I could go on a on about it. The bottom line is - well done! DCS again proved to be the true king of flight sims and I don't see anything that comes even close!
