I get less than 30 fps in the main menu as long as the video in the background plays. As soon as i switch to a static background (select a module as background) the fps shoot up to 144 and the menu is actually useable.

It's not a video. It's a 3d scene as far as I know.

How much RAM on your videocard?

Well the VRAM shouldn't be an issue even if it is a 3D scene since i dont have any performance problems in the actual simulation. In fact, it runs beautifully with more than twice the framerate than i had in 1.2.16. 2GB on my GTX670.

Same here for the low FPS on title screen with animation. Yet to try it static.

For what it's worth it was showing 30-35 (nVidia ShadowPlay counter) and is a pain because gSync causes some slight flickering.

System:

4670k i5 at 4.5Ghz plugged into Asus Maximus Vi with latest BIOS and chipset drivers

16GB Corsair RAM at 1866

Hmm I guess not everyone is having such a problem. Hope it gets fixed for you :) ( I have a GTX560Ti no problems 70 fps )

Is it possible to have one option for this 3d scene ?

For add or remove this animation because it's FPS killer.

You can disable it by setting a theme. Either click on one of your activated modules at the bottom and select "Set wallpaper", or go to the Options menu, Misc tab, and use the theme selector at the bottom of the screen.

Once you've got a theme selected, the menu background will be a static image.

No problems with the animated 3d background, 120 to 130 fps.

Same here. Around 20fps with the 3d theme. Whole menu is laggy. After switching to wallpaper, everything back to normal.

Same specs as:

i5-3570K, 16GB RAM, GTX670, Windows 7 64bit (duh). DCS is installed on a SSD.

40 FPS with the 3D scene, i`m guessing its using depth of field effect and that whats killing performance.

anyway just switch to some theme, more interesting anyways (unless they add some action to the 3d background :) )

About 42-45 fps for me. about 134 fps in any of the other menus or different theme.

For now chose a static theme, since I rather like the system to have a break while in the menu :)

Not for me, with crossfire off I'm seeing 90 FPS, with crossfire on with Both cards GPU rocking 1120 MHz I'm getting 125+ FPS. Read my specs to see my cards specs. I see FPS drops in game with FLIR & Maverick screens running. Never on main menu.
