VKB joysticks announcement

Recommended Posts

Now add ForceFeedback and its instant buy for me!

I don't know how long my G940 logitech has left in game hours but I need a replacement FFB stick someday.. This would be awsome and i will simply swap the KG12 Grip with my Thrustmaster warthog grip which is gathering dust here on my desk because I fly with the warthog throttle and G940 cyclic.

so... someone... please BUILD FFB with changeable grips !!!

Very, very interested in the Gunfighter. My extended 'hog is nice, but I'd like tougher gimbals.

Thanks for the update Sokol ;)

Here's the official forum link with the english description.

Many great devices to come!

I hope the new PAK FA-inspired stick won't take too long. I'd be happy with a polypropylene version.

I see nothing about it at their EU website. But I am waiting for my Fat Mamba to become available again for almost two years now, so ... *shrug*

Yeah, was going to mention availability, too. What good are these announcements when only a handful of people can buy them?

EDIT: I guess that's where Stratojet comes in - make it available to us (hopefully reliably).

I ordered my BM and T-Rudder directly from their chinese production site (shipped by DHL international). I assume you should be able to do the same. I live on an island in the Indian Ocean.

I believe the Warthog thrustmaster stick is compatible with VKB. In that case you could buy this force sensing mod:

http://www.realsimulator.com/html/fssb_r3_warthog.html

I wish there was a Force Feedback mod or affordable Control Loading System for either the VKB or Warthog stick as they are interchangeable.

Edit: apparently you need take out the circuit board from the warthog and assemble it in the new force sensing base. So not compatible then with VKB :/

They have some pretty cool looking joysticks, I like the look of the VKB Fat Black Mamba joystick and the gimbal design looks to be nicely engineered. I like the idea of a floor mounted stick for WWII sims and love the look of that KG12 grip, I wonder why its not compatible with the Fat Black Mamba base? When I saw the size of the Gladiator base I thought it was going to be FFB.

That said if Jason Williams is involved I won't be spending any money with them. I contacted him for help when one of his moderators banned me from the IL-2 forums for saying someone's use of a smiley was "silly" (apparently that was aggressive behaviour) he treated me like dirt, it seems if he has your money then he's done with you, he doesn't need to help unless you're prepared to wave pom poms for him.

I think you can install a KG12 grip on Mamba base, this have "shift register" chip inside, like Cougar, Warthog grips have and both are compatible with Mamba base, and the (mechanical) adapter for this grip is the same.

BTW - The new limited edition of Mamba MK.III will use the new CAM gimbal of Gunfighter.

Well, VKB need representatives in US and are few people motivated to invest in "simulations products"... so is need "live with we have". :D

The Gladiator low cost model was developed with IL-2 BoS target player in mind, find that natural 777 get involved.

I bet that we don't see new Force Feedback joystick anymore, due patents and royalties involved. This is option only for big names, not for small manufactures like VKB.

Logitech G-940 was probable the "swan song" of FF joysticks. :joystick:

There are other non patented Force feedback systems available like the BFF. These are great diy kits and with some knowledge one can build very good ffb controls. The problem is the support. These are supported by X-plane and FSX but not by DCS or other combat sim. If it changes then there will be plenty of possibilities.

I noticed it was out of stock for a long time so wondered if there would be a new revision but it sounds like the Gunfighter base would be the way to go if that's the future of their HOTAS line, sounds like they have a better coupling system for the grips now? what does the new gimbal system look like? have they released any news on that, gimbals tend to be one of the most contentious features on a stick. Some like the CH style of gimbal, some like the Warthog while some spent hundreds replacing their Cougar gimbals, each one has their strengths and weaknesses. I wonder if there will be a 'Fat' Gunfighter base too festooned with the kind of extra buttons seen on the Fat Mamba

If they went after the IL-2 BoS crowd I'd be worried, of those who play there a lot already have expensive HOTAS and its a very small community to start with, better to target something like War Thunder to give those mouse aim players something to graduate to though like I said I'd be wary of investing in any project that involves Jason Williams.

There should be an announcement about the gimbals soon.

The Gunfighter series will use cams. No picture has been made available yet (afaik).

From what I understood, there will be two cam options: one with a firm center (on each axis) (to mimic the current Black Mamba design) and one with a smooth center.

The Black Mamba may have its own base later when the modern stick will be produced (not decided).
