Last night I had the game freeze twice. After I had shut down the airplane I hit ESC to close the mission and it just freezes. The first time it happened I waiting about 10 minutes and it eventually took me back to the mission editor. The 2nd time I waited and it never did. I ended up having to end the task. Has anyone else had that problem? Just started last night for me.

Yeah i have that problem with every mission

Is it only missions from the mission editor for you? Are all missions?

I haven't tried any non mission editor ones yet. Will try tonight.

The problem was mentioned in a few threads already.

Happens on regular basis to me as well, usually after 30+ minute custom missions in MiG-21, with some AI units fighting around. Need to do some more testing with other modules to investigate it closer though. I think it might be related to possible memory leak some have been reporting.

Something I've noticed, clicking exit twice (once after an apparent freeze) brings me back to debrief screen.

Awaiting: DCS F-15C

I'll have to try that.

Mine were F-15 missions that I had created to remember how to use the radar, lol

Haven't flown it in years :) Thankfully I remembered most of it.

I'll try some different planes tonight and see if I can figure out if there is something common causing it.

Might be something to do with not being in real full screen. When I press ALT and ENT then I can hit ESC and properly exit sim.

i suffer from same problem aswell... i can hear the debrief music in the background but nothing happens waiting for a long time ... still nothing

Same here... Only happened so far with a Huey mission, the Weapons Training mission. I land and hit Escape, then click Quit Mission, and the debriefing tune plays but no debriefing.

On some other missions, I also get the debriefing music when clicking Quit Mission but the sim won't exit unless I click on Quit Mission again.

Finally, some missions just exit normally.

Something for ED to iron out, hopefully by the time 2.0 rolls around--kinda like the memory leak.

After the last update it got worst for me .. 90% of missions are freezing upon exit mission IF i fight in them. (the 2x click and alt+ent tricks are not working for me)

...hoping it's going to be solved...:music_whistling:

I feel your pain brother :) After the last update I was hoping this already great sim would get better, instead it traded a few trivial details for a constant crashing problem.

Was *really* looking forward to 2.0, still am of course, but something tells me it'll be a long and rough road.

Eh i'm sure it's going to be solved until 2.0 , anyway it's a beta version so i knew what i'm getting into when i installed this ..bugs bugs bugs bugs .. it's annoying because i must restart my game every time i exit SP, for now i';m forced to fly all my missions in multiplayer, anyway there i spend the most of my time so :)

I have this problem too

Just hangs when any exiting any mission, doesnt matter what mission ive been playing.

Same problem here. Have been trying to get some single player campaigns in while the bugs are being ironed out but cannot make any progress. At first this bug seemed to happen about 50% of the time but now it's happened the last 10 out of 10 tries. Extremely frustrating, there's got to be a workaround.

Have been quitting to desktop and reloading the game in case it's an issue with memory leak. Doesn't seem to change anything on this issue. Have read in another thread about hitting the QUIT button twice quickly. Am going to try that and see how it goes.

Have any of you noticed while pressing Ctrl + Z / LShift + Z that the DCS logo (the one that appears when the game first launches) pops in and out as if it's continuing to be rendered underneath the 3D world?

Simulation Freeze on Mission Exit

Same here, several times already. It froze on my last three mission editor mission on three different modules: UH-1H Huey, A-10C and Ka-50 missions. It freezes but the background music still plays. The double click on exit or alt-ent do not work for me. I have to shut down the computer and reboot.

These missions have no problem on v1.2.16 I haven't tried resaving the mission using the v1.5 editor but will try that.

Every time the player kills something or damages some unit the mission freezes on exit; if i don't kill anything it works fine so try to do this (it works for me on 50% of the cases) when you want to exit the mission restart the mission with Rshift+R (or Rctrl+R) fly for a few seconds and after that exit mission. Hopefully the next patch will "patch" this:unsure:

Offical Word????

I really wish someone for DCS would acknowledge that this has been noted and is being worked on because it is really a pain, so much so that I have stopped flying the beta version. :(

It is difficult to say, I can not reproduce ( which does not mean it is not happening for others ) just that I have no data to produce a bug report with, the more information we have the better.

If you have logs or tracks after experiencing the issue please attach them.

A guide to reporting bugs can be found in my signature.

thanks.

This issue has gotten worse for me as well, clicking twice no longer solves the problem and it happens basically 100% of the time. Would a track still be useful in that case?

Yes, we could at least see what was happening before the issue and try to reproduce if not with the track, the circumstance leading to it, and always include the logs folder zipped as well after it has happened.

Also system spec so we can see what hardware is being used, ( very handy if you have it in your signature :) )

It's been happening to me too... thought I was the only one.

Unfortunately I can't offer a reason as to why it might be happening.

I have been having some freeze ups in the Ka-50 Shooting Range quick mission when trying to exit. Not every time but enough to be annoying.

I will have to try that double click thing and see if it helps.

OK here is a random track, just flying around. I can't really find any reason for the crash, it just seems to be a near given on trying to exit a mission.

Log zip also attached.
