FYI All,

Upgraded to the new Windows 10 build today. Still assessing the impact.

So far DCS World OB 1.5.1 appears unfazed ... no Star Force issues yet.

Have flown the A-10C and L-39 with no issues.

Cheers!

I don't need no stinkin' GPS! (except for PGMs :D) :pilotfly:

Well, not for me. Saitek X-52pro drivers don't work with this update. I had to revert to the previous Windows 10 built.

Just to confirm; Did you reinstall the drivers after the update?

Sometimes a reinstall after an OS upgrade helps smooth things out, even if everything else works fine... Not sure why...

Hi guys,

I plan to wait till after the new year for Win10. Heck, I'm still on DCS v1.2 -- but that's for the Mudspike Fly-In this w/e. There will be some 1.5 servers -- but don't know if any of the servers are on Win 10.

Visit the Hollo Pointe DCS World server -- an open server with a variety of COOP & H2H missions including Combined Arms. All released missions are available for free download, modification and public hosting, from my Wrecking Crew Projects site.

I have yet to read anything about Windows 10 that motivates me to upgrade my 8.1 to it.

I am certainly in no rush...

Yes i uninstalled then reinstalled the drivers.

I know that when I upgraded to WIN10 about three months back I had to hit the update button again so Windows Update would install missing meta files, or something to that effect, that were missing in the initial install. Initially none of my games worked until I did another update immediately after the initial install.

No issues at all once all files installed. I like Win10, good upgrade, slightly quicker loads, and slightly better interface than that of Win8.1 - imo.

Good luck!

I like Win10 so far except for one issue of power settings not working.Having to manually turn on and off the pc and screen due to abug with USB controllers.I unplug my controllers and power off works just fine.

I had no problem when I updated to 10 months ago. I like it, although I still like the looks of 7 because I can navigate it easier, 10 runs much better.

Same issue as one of the posters on the first page - X-52 PRO stopped working. Driver re-install didn't help - the driver installer would simply not see the stick plugged.

When plugging it in, all light would go on and "Saitek X52 Pro Flight..." would go on MFD. Unknown device in device manager. Checked it was plugged in same USB 2.0 I used before. Strange that is..

My update went ok but there were a few issues maybe relevant, maybe not.

After the update when it booted up into desktop for the first time a small window on the bottom left came up which said " Windows has removed:

CPU-z and speccy as they were not compatible with this new version of windows 10" Didn't give me the option, it just did it so some people will have stuff removed.

Secondly this might affect some people who have DCS on a separate drive.

Under the quick access window to the left of computer devices and drives there are now duplicate entries. See below. Windows 10 continously removes my Gigabyte USB3 motherboard driver and replaces it with some shit one that doesn't work. I am working on it but its really annoying. Just a heads up.

What makes me laugh at this whole "free upgrade to windows 10" is now months after the release of Windows 10, and all the hype surrounding it, the little box that used to pop up in the bottom right task bar informing me I am not able to get my "free" upgrade is now telling me "don't miss out on the free upgrade"

I thought I have at least another 6 months before this "free" upgrade offer runs out.

I'm happy with 8.1, no hurry to upgrade at least not until the 11th month of the "free" upgrade.

The only solution i found was to revert back to the earlier Windows 10 build. :(

By the way, i tried the new build twice with no luck.

Good to know, I will not be attempting second time then :)

I have a feeling it has something to do with way new Windows build handles USB devices. I had similar situation with X52 and USB 3 ports previously.
