Abris and Ekran now in Russian on the English cockpit

Still as the titel say after the last update of Beta 1.5 the Abris and Ekran now in Russian.

By the way the Natasha on the Russian voice have incredible nice voice don't notice that before ...:D

And still the rocketpods are not open after firing missiles.

I ran into that too.

Go to the Gameplay tab in the GUI, there is a new option there:

Avionics Language.

 

The default is Native, change it to English.

 

The Abris and Ekran will now be in English...

 

Not very intuitive I think, one would think choosing English cockpit would do all this.

ED have separated the 2 (cockpit and HUD language). On contrary, I think the option is quite intuitive and easy to see what it does.

It also changes some of the panels - not all of them, though, depends on their nature. Screenshots attached: the 1st one is 1.2 or 1.5 in cockpit/avionics = English/English, the 2nd one is 1.5 in English/native.

Hmm, I'm getting the same problem regardless of choice with language selection. Abris is still russian. I don't mind Almaz being in Russian, but the ABRIS is really hard to do from memory.

Only mod I'm using is Ricardo's HD cockpit in English, I'll try disabling that and see what I find..

You also have a tip for me for the (Standby Attitude Indicator - SAI). When I fly for a while, then the twisted and always falls out completely. :helpsmilie:

It's normal.

This instrument use an indipendent gyroscope and energy source.

 

The SAI should be kept blocked, and unlocked solely for an actual failure of the main Attidude Indicator.

No, you need to switch the standby sai on with the Button on the right hand panel

sorry the question was not where I turn on the SAI, but why it is always twisted in the DCS in flight...

 

...and if it is not so because, flying in helicopters realistic that you activate the SAI at the start and not only when the ADI has failed. :thumbup:

For my knowledge is not a bug, is a feature.

 

Just keep it turned ON and locked ready to be used (unlocked) in case of a failure of the ADI or of the whole INU system.

It seems to me that the English/Russian gauges IS a bug.

 

I do have mine set on English in the Options/GUI and almost everything in the cockpit is English, but as suggested by others, the Ekran and Abris remain in Russian !!

And believe me ... I have tried both the default (which is Russian) and English .... which is both.

Okay... I take it back ... MY BAD !

 

Last night I went into the Options/GUI and re-selected Default (re: Language) and then exited DCS.

Then I went back in and re-selected English (again) and then exited DCS again.

 

This time everything changed to English as it should.

Lol don't be, you are certainly not the first and I guarantee will not be the last.

Many settings changes, due to it being alpha and beta, do not really take effect until applying them, exiting the sim, and then re-starting.

 

I have gotten to where I make it a habit, if I change any of the settings, I exit and then re-start just to be safe.

I was under the impression (don't know why ?) that unlike DCS 1.2, when we made selections in the Options, we no longer had to exit out of DCS and re-enter before changes would take hold.

Obviously this is not true, or at least not true for all changes.

As you suggest, it's probably always better to Exit and Re-Enter after and/all changes in the Options to be sure they take hold.

In the beta and alpha, absolutely. Some take, some don't. Doubt anyone has actually gone in and tested each one and noted which do and don't, so to be safe I would suggest exiting and restarting after any changes. At least that is what I do.

The problem with this is I don't want English avionics for all aircraft, only Ka-50. How can I get Ka-50 English avionics but MiG-21 native language avionics?
