nigelmcelwee Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Has anyone else noticed this? dabomb Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 They finally added vibration when translating into/ out of hover. This was added in a recent update, maybe 2 weeks ago?
nigelmcelwee Posted December 7, 2015 Author Posted December 7, 2015 I see it when going into a hover from sitting still. Its not vibration, I see the vibration effect. Its different from that. the screen literally jumps up and down very erratic. I will have to post a track when I get home. No curvature set on the axis either. Just default curve. NeilWillis Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 My money is on duplicate control axes again. Go through the controls maps, and delete all the duplicated axis inputs. I'm betting when you apply rudder, you also apply collective or cyclic.
nigelmcelwee Posted December 8, 2015 Author Posted December 8, 2015 I thought about that and I dont see any duplicate axis's. I cleared out all the control axis's except the ones I needed. I tested it some more last night and it might be the vibration effect on the heli that I am noticing. I had never seen it before so it seemed jerky to me but I dont have a lot of experience with the this chopper so the combination of that and my lack of flying experience may be accounting for what I am seeing! nigelmcelwee Posted December 8, 2015 Author Posted December 8, 2015 yeah mine definitely isnt that smooth. I installed the english cockpit MOD in the MI-8 I wonder if there is something in that mod that is conflicting with 2.0?? It seems as soon as the wheels get light on the ground the cockpit seems to shake pretty violently on my end. Devrim Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 That mod is just a texture modification. It has nothing to do with flight model of the module. A track really would be helpful... nigelmcelwee Posted December 8, 2015 Author Posted December 8, 2015 sure thing, I will get one posted tonight! thanks guys for helping out! I am slowly falling in love with this bird as the challenge and learning curve is definitely up my alley. It is a joy to fly and very very touchy! Landing it is so tricky. I cant imagine doing it in real life. I would have a panic attack trying to get this bird on the ground if my life depended on it and I am a private pilot!! nigelmcelwee Posted December 9, 2015 Author Posted December 9, 2015 yes, it does same with no payload as well. Just jumps around like that. Like I said, my axis's are all clear except the ones assigned and the I haven't done anything with my curves. I don't know whats causing such a huge vibration like that. msalama Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 I don't know whats causing such a huge vibration like that. Faulty controller pots giving you signal spikes perhaps? Has happened to me at least once. The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.
Art-J Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 (edited) Uhmmm.... Unless the tracks doesn't play correctly (which is always probable)... In this particular case, the chopper got jumpy, because... You hit the lamp post on the left and torn off a chunk of at least two rotor blades (as seen on the outside view). Make a test somewhere where there are no obstacles around and post Your findings again. nigelmcelwee Posted December 9, 2015 Author Posted December 9, 2015 (edited) Faulty controller pots giving you signal spikes perhaps? Has happened to me at least once. Naa the pots are fine...the A10 and Huey dont have the issue at all. To the post about clipping the post. On this track, perhaps I did clip it!! maybe ive always been clipping it as thats the area where I tend to takeoff from. I never really noticed this before. I suppose its just too tight for that bird there and its always clipping my blades?? I never noticed this before because I dont feel the clip at all when inside the cockpit. That would explain why my chinooks dont takeoff from that spot after activation either. Their blades must be clipping too and the AI just sits there. Hmmm....ok time to move all my chopers!! Devrim Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 (edited) ...In this particular case, the chopper got jumpy, because... You hit the lamp post on the left and torn off a chunk of at least two rotor blades (as seen on the outside view)...No that's not the source of problem. Mi-8 hits the pole nearly at the end of the track. The jumpy attitude what Nigel is talkin about is there, before hitting the pole. Check the jumpy act in cockpit. You'll see it a lot of times. I watched track again, and this problem reminded me a sticky ground issue that goes back to previous map. You may say "No! Irrelevant. This map is based on completely different an engine etc. You're right, but just saying... In BlackSea map, when I wanted to move Su-25T very very slowly, for a moment the aircraft used to act exactly like this (what is seen in track). It was like that the aircraft didn't want to move. I told (complained) about this "bug", but they said that that was not a bug, it's related with friction or something... I couldn't remember the explanation exactly, because it wasn't reasonable for me. Whatever, I don't know if my observation (bug I say) still exists in v1.5, but -again- this problem is similar to mine. The ground tends to hold and not leave aircraft. ooooor, I'm talking nonsense, forget my post. :) Edited December 9, 2015 by Devrim Intel i7-14700@5.6GHz | MSI RTX4080 SuperSuprimX | Corsair V. 64GB@6400MHz. | Samsung 1TB 990 PRO SSD (Win10Homex64) Samsung G5 32" + Samsung 18" + 2x8"TFT Displays | TM Warthog Stick w/AVA Base | VPC MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle | TM MFD Cougars | Logitech G13, G230, G510, PZ55 & Farming Sim Panel | TIR5 & M.Quest3 VR >>MY MODS<< | Discord: Devrim#1068
