DirtyFret Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 I run latest Steam OB 1.5.4. Reporting my experience with the "taxi-issue". I am able to "fix" the taxiing issue in TEW M02 by switching 1-2's starting spot. However, the rest of the mission does not seem to work properly after this anyway. From what I have seen/read from YT and forums is that a SAM site is supposed to try to shoot you down in M02. No trigger of that kind activates for me. I just fly the ~300mi for 1h:40mins and then land safely with all my wingmen buddies. :pilotfly: [sIGPIC]http://forums.eagle.ru/signaturepics/sigpic109142_3.gif[/sIGPIC] PewPew, "Stick 'em with the pointy end" "Vasilissa the Beautiful" HD Cockpit
Foul Ole Ron Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 No words about the taxi problem from ED. I tried mission two a few times on Thursday and the AI (3 planes) couldn't taxi but tried again after installing the latest release version on Friday and everything worked fine. Haven't tried anything else though.

I Can confirm that changing for Steam OB to Steam release version corrected the taxi issue on Mis02 but I am still not getting shot at by the SAM site even if I fly right over it. Did the rest of the mission work correctly for you Foul Ole Ron? Foul Ole Ron Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 All seemed to be working fine. Got hit by a SA-18 that forced me to bail out so don't know if the whole mission works but everything seemed to be working OK up to that point.

Did the rest of the mission work correctly for you Foul Ole Ron? Odd, the SAM did fire at me in v1.53, but I had the taxi bug. 5900X - 32 GB 3600 RAM - 1080TI My Twitch Channel ~Moo

Foul Ole Ron Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 Was that on latest release? And did you have a taxi bug when starting the mission? Was playing on the latest release. Didn't have the taxi bug on either mission 2 or mission 3. Appears to me that the issue has been resolved but my testing has been fairly limited. Re the Sam launches I was fired at and hit on mission 2. Wasn't fired at on mission 3 as stayed up high but Pontiac was fired at when doing CAS. The MWS on my plane triggered a warning but wasn't due to the missile being aimed at me. The only issue I had was maybe one that's been discussed before. With the custom F10 dialogue if you accidentally select the wrong radio channel to transmit then the dialogue plays out but you only hear your character talking. So on mission 3 I couldn't hear Uzi give their location. I had it jotted down from a previous attempt of the mission so was able to input into the CDU. Not sure if there's any way to prevent custom F10 dialogue from playing out if the wrong transmit channel has been selected as technically Uzi wouldn't have heard my request for their location.
Gliptal Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 You always receive from all three radios, regardless of what the last transmit switch position was. It must be another problem.

It does not matter which channel is active for F10 option - it could be coded, but it is not worth the effort. If you don't hear the answer it means that the radio you are supposed to use is not set up correctly - it is either off, on wrong frequency or in Preset mode. You will find the frequencies of all the assets in the briefings. Make sure to pay attention to the radio part, it is crucial for this campaign! For more information, please visit my website. CptSteve7 Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 Mission 16: "Operation Thunder" I call in Pontiac and Hawg flights, both do their Job. I call Axeman for bunker location, I destroy bunker. Then we all attack the column. So far so good. But then Hawg and my own flight randomly destroy infantry without any further notice from Command or Axeman. I also can not call Axeman to give me further targets. Then the Hawg-Flights get shot down, but nothing happens after their crash is transmitted. So I snipe infantry after infantry, my Wingman crashes into the mountains and then, when Bingo fuel, I return to base and get the "Mission Completed" message :-D Seems like some triggers are broken in OpenBeta, right???
baltic_dragon Posted September 9, 2016 Author Posted September 9, 2016 Hey CptSteve7. Possibly - IIRC at some point when you call other Hawg flight for help, they will just go weapons free and start attacking targets of opportunity, although focusing on AAA / MANPADs. Perhaps this is where something went wrong with the triggers, as they should take out the threats first. After Hawgs are destroyed, you should be notified by the Overlord - I understand that it happened? Then no other action is needed, OL says that ground troops will find the pilot. CptSteve7 Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 Hey, baltic_dragon, thanks for your reply! Ja, they took out the threats first. Then engaged the column. And then several pieces of infantry throughout the village. It made me wonder that I could not call Axeman for further targets, although a message made me think that it should have been possible. I was just able to request SITREPs on the AA-threats in the area. Somehow I must have misunderstood or even missed the message that I can return to base after the other flight was shot down. I followed the last known order "keep the enemy busy / let them pay for it" until I was out of fuel...maybe my fault :-)
AMEDooley Posted November 1, 2016 Posted November 1, 2016 The only issues I'm having right now is with JTAC. I can get the first nine line read to me but after that when I call to copy remarks nothing. I haven't had the same issue with other missions. Just missions in this campaign. Is this a DCS issue or a campaign issue? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Gliptal Posted November 1, 2016 Posted November 1, 2016 Make sure no other flights call you in between the nine line and the request for remarks, DCS likes to silently change your active radio. To be sure, always select the correct radio even if the menu is already open.

AMEDooley Posted November 3, 2016 Posted November 3, 2016 Everyone so far except for mission 16. That has been the only one where I got a complete JTAC reading. Mission five was when it first started happening. I double check mission frequencies just in case. The only thing I could think of is my altitude was too low on the other missions as I was at angels 7-8 on every mission but 16 where I was at angels 17. And on mission 8 I couldn't even get a response from JTAC for the mortar locations. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
AMEDooley Posted November 3, 2016 Posted November 3, 2016 It creates a frustrating mission for sure, but I've passed all of them with a 70-90 mission completion percentage. So it's been workable for me. I do want to stress that it has just been when I use the in game comms menu for JTAC (F4). [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

I've tried for 20mins on mission 8 for the mortar location but I don't even get a reply from them. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

AMEDooley Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 It might just be a cruption in the campaign when I started it. And could be fixed by just restarting it. I haven't finished the campaign yet so I haven't tried fixing it that way. No worries man it's still a ton of fun, and I am having a blast. Plus it's not that hard of a workaround. Have fun on your vacation man. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

dadunn1700 Posted December 18, 2016 Posted December 18, 2016 (edited) Wingmen Voice Overs aren't Working in 1st Mission I've played through Enemy Within once so i know what to expect. The very 1st mission where you are flying to the base the wingmen voice overs don't say a word...nor does any text appear indicating that I cant hear them. I can hear the voice overs and see the subtitles from "Shell" ...just not the wingmen. The whole line about "Khatchapuri" and everything else never gets heard. In the comm menu the F10 responses still show up...and i've tried responding and gotten nothing back. I've completely wiped and reinstalled DCS and all it's DLC from Steam to tryin get these voice overs to work with no luck. No mods are turned on either. Edited December 18, 2016 by dadunn1700
