But as far as I know we are not getting these big discounts anymore. I think there was a official statement about this but I don't know where.

This seems to be correct; the sales have been reflective of that statement since it was made - the highest discount seems to be 40% now.

Ultimately I don't mind; 40% is still very generous for the quality of modules you get - and it'll put food on the devs tables!

I must also say that as a i was new to the game 30-40euro for one plane was to much for me and so i waited for the sales. Now i understand why it is so expensiv and i would support the developers but i understand also the other.

I hope the will cancel every discount on DCS. It's a great Sim and real combat Flight Sim Fans will pay for it without a discount. 50-60$ is OK for one real DCS Modul.

Maybe 50-60$ is ok when you are working for example in US. I'm from Poland so 50-60$ is like 200-230PLN. In my country it's a lot of money. Don't be angry, it's just my opinion, anyway I bought MiG-21 and I'm gonna buy Nevada tomorrow

P.S. I forgot. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Ok,I'm from Germany and pay in €. They should open an extra Poland Web store ,if it too expensive for many people there with iP County Check.

They do, for most of the year. If you feel the developers need the extra money, donate?

I understand the enthusiasm to get the developers money, I want them to as well; however, it's difficult to get people into simming like this from the complexity alone, and then there's the periphery barrier, and then the price barrier of the actual modules, and then there's getting everyone online at the same time to play.

The discounts we have now are fine. Not great, it still takes some not-too-painful nudging to get a friend to get it, but fine. Cancelling them is a bit too "let them eat cake" really; sales get the people who would never otherwise have bought the thing, and allows us who are already fans, to gift them to someone else at a discount.

I for example wouldn't be here without such a sale.

I bought the A-10C for 10-15 bucks in a Steam sale, with the intention to derp around a couple of hours have some fun and then move on. I started to play, thinking this just as complex as I heard but never thought it would have enough for me to keep me playing. But the more I learned the more I discovered how fun this learning is, how fun it was to get beaten in to the ground by this "game" (I know most simers hate this word in this context) but then learn and practice how you can exploit the given capabilities by the airplane to master a challenge.

But on the other side I also see the point why they don't do these kind of sales anymore...they don't shift as much copies as other developers, because sadly the sim market is very small. So they can't afford to lose that much money with a bunch of copies that are shifted during a sale. At least I think that is why they changed it.

Luckily I allready bought all modules (except L-39) with 70% off and I have to say I would never have bought so many of them if it wasn't for the 70% discount.

I wonder how much difference there will be in the money they are going to make in the long run. With 70% off there is a really strong incentive to buy the modules especially for newcomers. Also, some of the modules I have barely played. Only bought them because of the discount.

In this situation, there is no sense for me to buy anything for this sim. It's too expensive.

your point of view. But I think each Aircraft with the amount of work and time it needs to develop, each module is a complete game you can play many hours with this own big manual.

a modern FPS game, will past 12 or 15 hours of playing from beginning to end.

12 h or 15h is the time you will need to begin to perform in the sim with this aircraft if you're good.

sim games for example cliff of dover : 650 hours inside . A sim still a cheap hour of gaming.

It's a bit like buying the real one ... but virtually.

Still no winter sale? It's already Christmas Eve. Looks like my flight sim setup will be collecting dust until the next Spring/Summer sale (if any).

I don't have the Steam version though. I know you can use DCS website keys to activate Steam products but I don't think it works the other way around.
