sgtduder Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 Any chance that Eagle Dynamics will add the helmet mounted queuing system to their A-10C?
Sweep Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 AFAIK the A-10 doesn't even use JHMCS, but that other HMD...I forget what its called. Lord of Salt
cichlidfan Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 AFAIK the A-10 doesn't even use JHMCS, but that other HMD...I forget what its called. It doesn't really matter since Flagrum is correct that the answer is no. Enduro14 Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 I guess the more important question is if the f18c Dcs module is coming with it? Intel 8700k @5ghz, 32gb ram, 1080ti, Rift S
hansangb Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 It's called HMIT, by the way. Helmet Mounted Integrated Targeting. Boy, it would make the use of TGP so much easier! :( But what can you do. hsb HW Spec in Spoiler --- i7-10700K Direct-To-Die/OC'ed to 5.1GHz, MSI Z490 MB, 32GB DDR4 3200MHz, EVGA 2080 Ti FTW3, NVMe+SSD, Win 10 x64 Pro, MFG, Warthog, TM MFDs, Komodo Huey set, Rverbe G1
Fri13 Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 What is the problem? Just use HUD to slave TGP as needed. And if not possible, then using TAD is second easiest way. Sure a HMIT would be nice when flying low and close circles but I take likely more distance for weapons delivery anyways. i7-8700k, 32GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 2x 2080S SLI 8GB, Oculus Rift S. i7-8700k, 16GB 2666Mhz DDR4, 1080Ti 11GB, 27" 4K, 65" HDR 4K.
Kimi_uy Posted January 17, 2016 Posted January 17, 2016 (edited) The hmcs in the a10 can represent pretty much every symbol in the TAD. So situational awareness is greatly enhanced, it aint just another spi designator. Wrong it's called HMCS, Helmet Mounted Cueing System. HMCS adds a ton of situation awareness without going heads down in the pit. v303d Fighter Group Discord | Virtual 303d Fighter Group Website
hansangb Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Tomato, tomahto: GENTEX Corporation ScorpionTM Helmet Mounted Cueing System (HMCS) has been selected for the Helmet Mounted Integrated Targeting System (HMIT) for the U.S. Air Forces' entire fleet of A-10 Thunderbolt and for the Air National Guard/Air Force Reserves' F-16 Block 30/32 Viper aircraft. The HMIT program will commence immediately with initial phases of aircraft integration. This will be followed by an IOT&E phase. Production phases will follow shortly thereafter with a total of 574 Scorpion systems anticipated to be supplied over the life of the program at a total potential program value of approximately $45-50 million. It's not happening, so I guess it's a moot point what we call it. hsb HW Spec in Spoiler --- i7-10700K Direct-To-Die/OC'ed to 5.1GHz, MSI Z490 MB, 32GB DDR4 3200MHz, EVGA 2080 Ti FTW3, NVMe+SSD, Win 10 x64 Pro, MFG, Warthog, TM MFDs, Komodo Huey set, Rverbe G1

hansangb Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 I got you. I was Infantry guy so not well versed on the AF lingo! My FAC pretty much spoke a different language. I guess even that changed to JTAC these days. Kimi_uy Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 It's funny cause we still have broken IR imagery but we hear that a new feature might get here that would require to virtually create a new module. [sIGPIC]][/sIGPIC] Fuel Planning Tool | DCS: A-10C SADL MOD | Kimi's Arma 3 Mods | Twitch.tv

Dappman Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 I've always thought the A10 needed this. Would be awesome to be able to set SPI/MARK just by looking at something.
