DCS 2.0 and 1.5 won't launch

DCS 2.0 and 1.5 have both stopped working. I'll do a step by step thing of what I do:

 

Method 1

 

1. Run the updater for either 2.0 or 1.5,

2. Open task manager and wait for the DCS process to appear and then disappear without any sign of the client opening.

 

Method 2

 

1. Run the exe for either 2.0 or 1.5

2. Open task manager and wait for the DCS process to appear and then disappear without any sign of the client opening.

 

I've tried repairing, updating. I still have no idea on what's causing it. I have noticed on running updater the top bar says the updater is 2.6.14.55.

DCS 1.5 WONT LOAD

 

I can not get dcs 1.5 to load after updating from 1.2 xx so uninstalled 1.2xx and did fresh install of 1.5 still will not load.windows says dcs has stopped working.

That may be the problem, not sure a 9800 card has support for DX11... which the DCS Edge engine is.

Ok so I have to spend hundreds of dollars to upgrade my current computer or hundreds more for a new computer just to run dcs 1.5 or 2.0? And I can't go back to 1.2xx now so it looks like I won't be playing dcs world anymore.

Unfortunately your system is below the min required spec for DCS 1.5/2.0.

 

I am not going to say you absolutely can not get it to run, but even if you did it would be a struggle.

 

DCSW 1.5 specs:

Minimum system requirements: OS 64-bit Windows 7/8/10; DirectX11; CPU: Core i3; RAM: 8 GB; Free hard disk space: 30 GB; Video: 2 GB RAM card, DirectX11 - compatible; requires internet activation.

 

Recommended system requirements: OS 64-bit Windows 7/8/10; DirectX11; CPU: Core i5+; RAM: 16GB; Hard disk space: 30 GB; Video: NVIDIA GeForce GTX780 / ATI R9 290 DirectX11 or better; Joystick; requires internet activation.

The logs reference an access violation for DX11Renderer, so I'm agreeing with dburne, your GFX card doesn't support DX11. While we're at it, that CPU and RAM may not even be enough to run EDGE, either. The minimum specs between 1.2.xx and EDGE have changed. Your specs looked like the minimum for 1.2.xx but EDGE minimums are:

I know from time to time, appears some new ungrateful hardware incompatibility with our favorite sims, don't tell me about it...

Last year, to keep MS-FSX with add-on aircraft running decently, had to invest in a new PC althogether.

 

The price on brand new parts here in Portugal:

 

i7 4790K : 354 euro / aprox. 382 US dollar

GeForce GTX 770 : 313 euro / aprox. 338 US dollar

 

Although it's always a little bit of a risk, you can try the second hand parts market - sometimes there's where the best choices are.

I've been around here only a few months ago, so I never unninstalled and reinstall the sim yet, but :

 

Doesn't it just takes to run the DCS_World_1.2.x.x .exe file to reinstall it ?

By the way, how did you reverted to the previous version ? Do you have a backup installer ?

I have an nvidia geforce 9800 and it works just fine with DX11 when I load up X-Plane v10. DCS World crashes when I try to start it. It used to work with DCS 1.5 but now it crashes at the splash screen. PLEASE HELP! Thanks, Kevin therussiancowboy@gmail.com
