Hammer1-1 Posted September 24, 2024 Posted September 24, 2024 (edited) Have you checked the log for the details? Find the log because there are a ton of those dcs_mt_manifest.bin files in dcs. also you need to find this address: C:\Users\me\AppData\Local\Skate_Zilla_Simulations\DCS_Updater_GUI_Utility.e_Url_rqwpoej0p3kjhj2nt4var0ywwrne52hk delete those user.config files. make backup copies of them first. Hammer1-1 Posted September 24, 2024 Posted September 24, 2024 (edited) There is no more DCS.OpenBeta, its gone....unless youve updated from an older version to current, then yeah it could still be there. But if you have installed a fresh version of DCS in the last month or 3, then that folder will no longer exist. Open Beta went to standalone not long ago. SkateZilla Posted September 25, 2024 Author Posted September 25, 2024 (edited) Just some notes: 1. I was never P'd. That was a blanket message and not directed at any specific individual, as it's hard to sit in a medical facility and in meetings *(in person and virtual), with discord or other social media apps constantly beeping in. *and before someone chimes in with turn your phone off in meetings, I have family in medical crisis, so no I will not be turning my phone off, as I will not miss any calls from the hospital, shrug.*. 2. I am aware of an issue w/ MT, as the launch command still uses an outdated parameter, which is also fixed internally and being tested locally, then tested in the testers group, before going public. The issue is that the dcs_mt_manifest file was depreciated a while ago, but remained as a remnant file in the folder, so the launch command was never updated, with a new install, that file isn't part of the download. Dangerzone Posted September 25, 2024 Posted September 25, 2024 (edited) Don't worry about explaining yourself SkateZilla. You look after your family (and yourself!). You made your situation clear previously, and anyone who can't understand that and respect what you're going through ain't going to understand regardless of how much you try and clarify. People who are not happy with the awesome work you've done and free volunteering of your time and skills can learn the parameters and create an icon with the parameters they need for the time being (or always go and learn how to code and make a launcher of their own and then appreciate truly the work you've done ) They say that one negative comment takes ten positive ones to outweigh it. Well, just know there's a ton of us who are incredibly appreciative of the work you've done - and are happy for you to take all the time in the world you need - we just may not be the 'noisy' ones posting on your thread. j Take care, and seriously - look after yourself. I reinstalled the system and completely DCS. The surprise was that in the user folder, there is no longer DCS.openbeta, but only DCS Thank you Edit:I will also add that I can run dcs mt without the skatezilla launcher. ED Updater Utility v2.log 393.63 kB · 5 downloads The main problem is probably with the new installation (I don't mean the version) of DCS World and DCS Updater from Skatezilla. As noted by Skatezilla, this launcher is not ready to purely MT version. The DCS.exe file itself from the /DCS World/bin-mt folder cannot be run, try and see. But the desktop shortcut can run this dcs.exe. So if you do a new install of DCS World, this Skatezilla's DCS Updater it probably won't work properly for you. The DCS World itself can be launched via a desktop shortcut, so there is no need to panic. You can still fly, and that's the point. Thanks Skatezilla for your work, take care
Dangerzone Posted September 26, 2024 Posted September 26, 2024 (edited) As a workaround, could you just create a symbolic link in windows for the Skatezilla app to continue to work for now. ie, if there is only one DCS.exe file now, and let's say it's located in DCS World/Bin, could you just run something like: Quote mklink "d:\dcs world\bin-mt\dcs.exe" "d:\dcs world\bin\dcs.exe" ... or something similar depending on where you have it installed. (This is untested, as I don't have an issue with Skatezilla and also don't have access to my gaming PC at the moment, but if it's just a matter of the .exe being relocated - couldn't this just work) Or could you just maybe do a symbolic link for the whole directory? Quote mklink "d:\dcs world\bin-mt\" "d:\dcs world\bin\dcs.exe" /d ... or something similar depending on where you have it install? Edited September 26, 2024 by Dangerzone 1

It's not solved, I get notifications through nearly 2 dozen apps that are used for more than just DCS, I don't have the time to go through and mute DCS related things while leaving important things unmuted. The solution would be for users to be polite and simply do what I asked, which has pretty much been done already, so after I asked it became a non-issue, I don't see where the need to tell me how to setup my phone came from. 2 Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2), ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9) 3x ASUS VS248HP + Oculus HMD, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + MFDs

SkateZilla Posted September 27, 2024 Author Posted September 27, 2024 (edited) Do I really have to ping a mod to clean out the last few pages? I made a public update / statement on things, it really didn't need to be discussed and analyzed. The situation is this: - I am working on the App when I have time, as always. - Public releases have to be timed, as I add things internally, way before they are ever in public DCS Builds, as the DCS Testers use the app as well. - I am aware of both the MT Launch issue and the threading issue, both are limited variable exceptions, and have been fixed internally. - I will release new/ general updates on things when I can, which is why I posted that update, without singling out any specific individuals on any community platform, but there really isn't a need to ping anyone *(whether it be me or any other devs for that matter) repeatedly w/ the same question, even if the situation was different, it would be harassing / annoying never the less. As I am a busy person, I don't always have time to respond to every forum PM, Profile Post, Discord Ping, Discord PM, Facebook Ping, Post, DM,. etc etc etc. - My update was to advise the public of the situation, to give an update and to ask politely not to ping repeatedly, not to open up my daily routine to analysis and opinions, and furthermore, discussing it back and forth, has the opposite effect of what I asked for, here specifically. So, that being said, I ask that everyone move on, There is no need to discuss it further, and there is no need for snarky, condescending, under the breath, one liner comments randomly in reply to someone else. That is All. plobue Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 (edited) It appears as though the highlighted parameter in the command generated by the DCS Updater is causing the issue. DCS.exe" --manifest-name dcs_mt_manifest.bin --no-launcher --force_enable_VR --force_OpenXR --Custom1 I submitted the command without the parameter and all started up normally. rubbra Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 I think if you right click on a sim build slot, you can add launch parameters. Actually, all you need to do is turn off Multi-Threading in the Skatezilla launcher. "Multi-Threading: OFF" works perfectly. 1 2
