Hammer1-1 Posted August 23, 2020 Posted August 23, 2020 DCS.exe Process may still be running when you launch the App. Most of the Session Starts dont even get to the Last Line in the Start up, The Start up gets to the DCS Version Check then stops, After DCS Version check the app scans for DCS's Processes running or not. Thats not the case for me. It generally allows me to click launch, but when first starting up I HAVE to click on one of the 3 buttons before I can click launch. Ill try to get a video of it later if that helps. erunner Posted August 24, 2020 Posted August 24, 2020 Maybe a side affect of the app launching the program. i believe when the app launches it, it launches w/ the "Start In" property as the path for the app. i will have to look into it and adjust the launch code. Hi, have been this issue addressed? I have the same problem and I checked that on 06.10.2020.1 / 1.1.0.1032 the problem was fixed, but with the last version I have the same issue. Regards,

I have the same problem and I checked that on 06.10.2020.1 / 1.1.0.1032 the problem was fixed, but with the last version I have the same issue. Regards, I never announced that this was fixed, as of right now it still is a "start in" side affect. ron533 Posted August 28, 2020 Posted August 28, 2020 @SZ, First - thank you for this great utility!! I would like to suggest adding an option (a checkbox maybe) for JSGME/OVGME users, that whenever it is checked by the user - it will serve to pop up a warning/reminder to disable all mods before using the update/repair/clean buttons... thus preventing unfortunate mishaps...:smilewink: Cheers, Ron SkateZilla?... you approve? SkateZilla Posted August 30, 2020 Author Posted August 30, 2020 All Mods should be in the /Saved Games/ Folder and therefore not even conflict w/ the update/repair/clean process. imacken Posted August 30, 2020 Posted August 30, 2020 All Mods should be in the /Saved Games/ Folder and therefore not even conflict w/ the update/repair/clean process. I think what he means is that when certain mods are installed via OvGME to the main DCS folder, it can cause a bit of confusion if they are not disabled before any updates. The first thing I do when starting a DCS update is to disable all mods via OvGME. If this is not done, then it is possible that OvGME copies back the outdated backup files when trying to disable mods before re-enabling them as OvGME has become a little confused. I agree that it would be nice to have a little pop up to say 'have you disabled all mods before proceeding' type thing. Just would act as a little aide memoire. I hope that makes some kind of sense. speed-of-heat Posted August 30, 2020 Posted August 30, 2020 I think the problem with this sort of UI interrupt, is it works for a small percentage of people. Most people just get to the point where they click through the UI that interrupts what it is they want to do... Thank you imacken :) - That was exactly what I meant. Some of my mods are indeed in the saved games folder, but some are not working that way and must be in the main game folder to work. An optional reminder (activeated by the user who choses to) would be a welcome addition. Thanks. Callsign SETUP

SkateZilla Posted August 30, 2020 Author Posted August 30, 2020 (edited) I will look at adding OvGME as one of the external apps, and if detected/setup will prompt to disable mods, The issue is once you click update the updater will start, so if you set OvGME as an external app, it will have to launch first (ie before the updater), and then remove mods, then proceed w/ clicking "update" on the dcs_Updater. Making the process more complicated isnt what I really wanted to do. and most users know that they have mods installed before they click update. I get the principle behind the request, and I will look into it, but it wont be a high priority if it ends up making things more complicated for most users. What is requested (if I get it right) is just a check box to enable a prompt window to remind the user about installed MODs before starting the updater. The prompt window may only have a reminding text and an acknowledge button. When the button is pressed the updater starts, regardless of the states of any MODs. No integration of OvGME is needed. It will be up to the user to disable any MODs before acknowledging, be it by OvGME, JSGME, other MOD manager or manually. And being activated by the user only those who believe they need it will be bothered by it. Well, it would be up to the user to enable or disable the warning for himself... a selective one more stop before the repair/update etc. Like the external applications, just without the hassle to actually connect to anything besides an optional pop up. Anyway thank you for your program and efforts! Cheers Callsign SETUP

Theres no options in the dropdown. ANy ideas?

Cherry3z Posted September 27, 2020 Posted September 27, 2020 (edited) Hi. Having a problem after a complete Win10 reformat, DCS reinstall, DCS Updater reinstall, etc. Never had this problem, before the reformat and reinstall, all was working flawlessly. Whenever I try to launch DCS through the Updater (any of the options, VR On, VR Off, etc), I get an error "Important files are damaged: dcs_manifest.bin". I've tried deleting the file, doing a Clean and Repair (multiple times). Still get the same error. Oddly, if I just use the game DCS.exe shortcut, the game will launch with no problems. I also get this same error trying to launch the game through the VRKneeboard interface. Any ideas? Thanks! EDIT: Here's the log file I get when I try to launch the game. === Log opened UTC 2020-09-27 15:05:03 2020-09-27 15:05:03.270 ALERT SECURITYCONTROL: Failed to parse root_manifest! 2020-09-27 15:05:03.270 WARNING SECURITYCONTROL: IC fail: dcs_manifest.bin 2020-09-27 15:05:03.271 INFO DCS: Command line: "C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\bin\DCS.exe" 2020-09-27 15:05:03.271 INFO DCS: DCS/2.5.6.55363 (x86_64; Windows NT 10.0.18362) 2020-09-27 15:05:03.271 INFO DCS: DCS revision: 175362 2020-09-27 15:05:03.271 INFO DCS: Renderer revision: 20900 2020-09-27 15:05:03.271 INFO DCS: Terrain revision: 20771 2020-09-27 15:05:03.271 INFO DCS: CPU cores: 6, threads: 12, System RAM: 32710 MB, Pagefile: 4864 MB === Log closed.
