bubu15012000 Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 is there a way to shoot when i'm still on the ground? if so, how?
tintifaxl Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 Not in the A-10C. It's a security precaution. Windows 10 64bit, Intel i9-9900@5Ghz, 32 Gig RAM, MSI RTX 3080 TI, 2 TB SSD, 43" 2160p@1440p monitor.
derfritz Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 Ground safety switch lower left corner of the left panel Gesendet von meinem E6653 mit Tapatalk
NeilWillis Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 You can fire the gun on the ground. There is a switch at the rear of the left side console. Throw that, and switch on the master arm and gun switches on the armaments panel then just pull the trigger.
cichlidfan Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 Apply your brakes before you fire! :D Not in the A-10C. It's a security precaution. The gun would be rather difficult to test if there was no way to fire it while on the ground. Zabuzard Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 As said, possible. Here some images. Ground arm safety switch on the left rear panel: Master arm and Gun arm on the left front panel: Shooting gun on the ground: Be aware of the force produced by firing the Gau-8. It lifts the nose wheel and then pushes the aircraft backwards. There is a video of one landing on a ship with the A-10C, using the Gau-8 to reduce the stopping distance.
Vitormouraa Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 Becareful, it's 10,000lbs of recoil! You can do an interesting test, turn off one engine and fire the GAU-8 while you push the throttle to max :D It's one TF-34 (~41kN) engine vs a Gatlin Gun (45kN) SplashOneGaming Discord https://splashonegaming.com

bubu15012000 Posted March 16, 2016 Author Posted March 16, 2016 thank you all! :D p.s. how do i move my camera (i use the keyboard) for seeing the switch well? (sorry for my bad english, english is not my first language)
Sryan Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 I thought CTRL-C allows you to look around with the mouse. you can hit CTRL-C again to go back to be able to click things again ( I might be wrong and it's actually ALT-C). You can also slew the view around with your numpad keys. Check my F-15C guide
Vitormouraa Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 Left Control + C is to open the canopy. Left Alt + C is to activate the free camera/mouse cursor. SplashOneGaming Discord https://splashonegaming.com

paulca Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 For some reason that last video reminds me of the time I flew into my own Mk82Air.
