Redacuragsr Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 Hi Guys, I have a quick question....hoping someone here can help me. I am using moonlight to stream to my Samsung Galaxy Edge 7 phone, and everything works fine except for one thing. For some reason when I stream my sound disappears from the speakers and is played through the phone. When I exit out of Gforce screen everything goes back to normal. Does anyone know how to disable the sound from the phone and having it play through the speakers like it usually does. Thanks a lot.

GurbY Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 I installed the Moonlight client on my Android (OP3) and enabled game stream in Moonlight and I have to say: the quality is (maybe even a LOT) better than I used to have in the DK2 Rift. Can't say anything about the CV1, but this option is, when used for fun flying, certainly doable...!!

sniperwolfpk5 Posted November 30, 2016 Author Posted November 30, 2016 For headtracking use track IR which works perfectly. Win10, Intel 3rd Gen. mx22 Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 Just stumbled on this thread and of course, had to try it... I'm having problems with "ghosting" though - seems like edge of left/right eyes are fine, but there is an overlap in the middle. For example in FW-190, I see two gunsights... Any way to correct this? I'm using my Pixel XL (5.5'' screen if it matters) and Moonlight. Thanks!
sniperwolfpk5 Posted November 30, 2016 Author Posted November 30, 2016 Yes you can fix this in Trinus by setting IPDs but don't know if IPD settings can be done in Moonlight. 5.5" phone is just perfect for VR. Which VR set are you using? If you have VR headset with IPDs adjustment option then you can set it directly without using software end. Win10, Intel 3rd Gen. GurbY Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 But no headtracking, or, Gurby? Yes, as Sniperwolf said, just use the TrackIr and it works like a charm..! Will try other settings (and usb tethering) but so far 720/60fps and 1080/30fps over 2.4Ghz Wifi works ok!

nickmow Posted December 5, 2016 Posted December 5, 2016 Followed this thread, had to get a new iphone as my old one kind of fell off a bench (oops). and went for it with a cheap headset sold with other gadgets at the local petrol station. Using Trinus VR and the PC side server, it all hooked up in seconds and once I had fiddled with display settings (stereo and reduced resolution) it actually worked, with my TrackIr hat balanced on top. Not mind blowing but very effective and maybe a flavour of things to come. That said, thank you for the heads up and information it really does work !

Sandman1330 Posted January 13, 2017 Posted January 13, 2017 Hey guys, Just bought a head mount for my iPhone 6S, just a generic one (MergeVR). Headset works fine, and I've gotten the mirroring to work with DCS using Trinus. In combination with trackir, it is a useable setup, but not terribly user friendly (the track clip doesn't fit well with the headset) For those who have managed to create an enjoyable experience, I'd like to ask how you solved a few of the problems I have run into: 1. Headtracking - trackir works, but I can't get full 1:1 and retain the ability to look completely around. Has anyone got the 3DOF tracking working using the integrated gyroscope and one of the trinus sensor options? I've tried them all, expecting trackir emulation especially to work, but it does not. Anyone have success? I've tried with and without the trackir fix box ticked. 2. With DCS set to stereo mode, the edges of all my menus get cut off. It makes it extremely difficult or impossible to do anything in the menus, so I find myself switching back and forth from stereo mode constantly. Very annoying. 3. I can't get it working at all with moonlight (I have an nvidia card). Anyone have success? I think these are the main struggles so far. Anyone having better luck? Thx! You can get 1:1 for limited like 120-160 degree. I use Opentrack so you have to increase the scale of axis, but you won't be able to look back, as you will lose tracking I would suggest keep it just like now. 1.2 Tighten your clip to your VR Headset with elastic or some thing else for comfort and better tracking 1.3 Yes you can use gyroscope of the phone it will give you 3DOF. Use Opentrack and select PI tracker(It will install PI tracker app on your mobile as well). Also if you do a little bit R&D on Trinus. There are plenty of headtracking options. One of them is using mobile gyroscope. I haven't tested it. 2. You need to use Riftcat. It will enable you to use Steam VR API 3. Yes people are using moonlight. I haven't tried it myself but this is already discussed in this thread or in the forum Edited January 13, 2017 by sniperwolfpk5 Win10, Intel 3rd Gen. Sandman1330 Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 I give up. Nothing I've tried works. Firstly, I'm handicapped by being an iPhone user. It seems that everything would work nicely if I had android, I could use riftcat + vridge and it seems like that would do the trick. Can't, no iPhone app. So I use Trinus. But their built-in TrackIR support won't work, so I have to use my actual TrackIR. It works, but it's a pain, and I can't seem to find a good way to attach my trackclip to the headset, so it is constantly getting bumped off, etc. Plus, without Riftcat, I can't use the DCS menus because I'm stuck using stereo mode. So, while Trinus works, it's more pain than its worth. Now I'm stuck with an $80 headset that Best Buy won't take back because it's been opened, and that is mostly useless to me. Ryzen 7 5800X3D / Asus Crosshair VI Hero X370 / Corsair H110i / Sapphire Nitro+ 6800XT / 32Gb G.Skill TridentZ 3200 / Samsung 980 Pro M.2 / Virpil Warbrd base + VFX and TM grips / Virpil CM3 Throttle / Saitek Pro Combat pedals / Reverb G2
zaelu Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 Is there a tutorial on how to set this up from scratch? -I installed trinusVR on the phone -I installed trinus server -I had setup few things there and I can see my phone either by USB teetering or through router (I prefer through router because it doesn't add new network adapter/address and my Mig21bis activation bulldog stays put) -I start DCS go to VR option enable VR -I start a mission and get inside the cockpit I have video on screen and on Phone Video on the monitor is normal Video on the phone is split/doubled (2 moving images like it should... I guess) But 1. I don't think the images on the phone are different at all (left eye right eye) 2. Trackir is picked a bit bad and pitch axis is inverted no matter if I check or not the invert box in trinus server app. ( I have actually OpenTrack that outputs only TrackIR) So how do you make sure the images are different on the phone? Is it normal to still get a normal 1080p image on the screen? Shouldn't it be split too? I don't have a headset as I am just trying to figure out if it's worth it. So far it kinda looks like it works but I am not sure. Sandman1330 Posted January 14, 2017 Posted January 14, 2017 Well, as you can see from my above post, I gave up on this. However, the solution to your problem is to set DCS into stereoscopic mode. In options, display, go to monitors and change to stereo. DCS will restart then come back in split screen sbs mode, and then you can start a game and stream it to your phone with trinus. However, the problem I could not overcome was that in stereo mode the menus will all have the edges cut off, and it becomes very difficult to use them. If you have an android phone (which I don't), you can try riftcat (just google it) and see if it works rather than trinus. Let me know if you get it working, I'm curious! zaelu Posted January 15, 2017 Posted January 15, 2017 (edited) Thanks for the help. Both problems solved. 1. Stereo mode in DCS Options/monitors mandatory. 2. I have to select nothing in sensor in Trinus not TrackIR so I can normally use TrackIR interface! I had selected TrackIR and it was messing with the interface that fed DCS itself. I guess it was creating a second Trackir or something. I also managed to make it use moonlight but it doesn't "distort" the images to be used with lenses. That makes it useless with a head mount? It looks like this (sorry for the crappy shot :) but it's a start. I will order a head mount too :) Edited January 15, 2017 by zaelu [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] I5 4670k, 32GB, GTX 1070, Thrustmaster TFRP, G940 Throttle extremely modded with Bodnar 0836X and Bu0836A, Warthog Joystick with F-18 grip, Oculus Rift S - Almost all is made from gifts from friends, the most expensive parts at least
TheThumper Posted January 16, 2017 Posted January 16, 2017 I am trying to get the iPhone working with this setup. I have it working using moonlight with wifi, but it is struggling with bandwidth (i.e. lockup, eventual disconnect). I have trinus installed on pc/iphone and got it to connect via wifi although I had to enter a IP as it wouldn't auto-detect. My real interest is getting this to work over USB to remove the bandwidth issue, but I can't seem to get Trinus to find the phone when it is connected to the PC via USB. Anyone having done this before having any tips? I do not have any apple software on my PC so think maybe I am missing something applish. Any help is much appreciated. ~Thump. Trinus doesn't support USB for the iPhone, only Android. Apple is well behind on support for VR. TheThumper Posted January 18, 2017 Posted January 18, 2017 I made some progress in getting USB tethering working with my iPhone, but Trinus refused to work with it. The good news is that Moonlight appears to be also working over the USB line line now as can be seen when viewing network traffic (when streaming it all goes over the Apple network that is created when I tether my phone and turn on personal hotspot), so there is no lockups/disconnects anymore. All in all I am VERY impressed with what you can do on the cheap here. Big shout out to sniperwolfpk5 for starting this thread so long ago (I missed it originally). If anyone has questions on how to get moonlight working over usb hit me up, happy to help! ~Thump. Brainless Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 Hi, I have few questions: 1. Is it possible to change the FOV when dcs is in stereo mode? Usual keys don't work when stereo is active. 2. About bobovr Z4: is it really 120 degree angle of vision? I ordered mini version (don't need headphones), as it is advertised with the same parameters, but it is lighter. I feel it more like 80-90 degree. 3. Is it possible use lens correction with moonlight? Brainless Posted January 20, 2017 Posted January 20, 2017 (edited) 1 no 2 around 110 degree 3 idk Thanks for the reply. Actually I found some answers/possible solutions by myself. 1. What about Stereo.lua? May I edit it to decrease the FOV? 2. Actually around 90. According other forums/reviews 110-120 is pure marketing trick. 3. May be with SweetFx_3D_lense, if we can use it with DCS. I should give a try. - Unfortunately no. 32-Bit only. zaelu Posted January 22, 2017 Posted January 22, 2017 (edited) I got my BoBo VR BS :D Here is my initial impression: 1. I never tried VR before. Never. 2. First time I saw it (I was in Mig21) I had the impression I was in a diorama, but I think this was because I saw the plane inside as I have put my headset on. After a while the sensation disappeared and I noticed that it actually looks a lot better than a 24" screen I have (usually at maximum 50cm from face). 3. I think this is awesome for us but I wouldn't recommend this setup unless people don't expect high quality and money back. It's like a demo and looks great for somebody that never used VR. Here are some details about my setup. Bobo VR4 with a mere Samsung Galaxy S4 :D. Headtracking was pretty decent in speed but because the tracker (home made for opentrack) was normally used in lower position and without the googles to obstruct it I lost track and had jumps all over when I turned my head left. Still awesome :D . I used Wireless with moonlite and I didn't observed lag except from some freezes of on second maximum... probably my phone was struggling. I don't understand how Oculus and Vive got out on the market without wireless if I with a junk phone can have a decent experience? I would have put 2 Wireless AC adapters if necessary in the rift and a super dongle to create a virtual network to connect with it (just like this sorry setup does with bluetooth). Power cord is acceptable and a battery pack anyone could attach to themselves from after market... Anyway... I am impressed of the potential even with this. I am glad I didn't tried VR before because maybe I would have had problems resisting the urge to buy Oculus or Vive :) . sniperwolfpk5, I want to thank you for your effort to bring this to the forum and for the help in setting it up! Speaking of which I have a question, what settings do you use in Trinus for headset etc?
