aaron886 Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 #2 instantly realised the default sitting position is right at the front of the seat so i moved that back so im sitting properly in the chair but now the hud is messed up. It seems to be sized for sitting on the end of the chair, now i cant see both the bottom and top at the same time. This must be normal in the rift, is there any known resolution? Thanks!! If you're talking about the A-10... yeah, it's messed up badly. I use RCTL+RSHFT+ numpad arrows/zoom keys to move to a reasonable head position, then lean in when I need the full HUD. Not ideal, but I can't stand flying with my head over the stick. It's bizarre. VR highlights the problem so well it seems impossible that ED would make this oversight. This is the challenge of programming for VR!
DerekSpeare Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 I have considered that some of the symbology in the hud and on the instruments could be optimized with fonts and graphics that are easier to read and identify for VR users. While I appreciate the attention to realism, there are limits in cases where it becomes the tail wagging the dog. Some of the guys over at Elite dangerous forum were using the Oculus debug tool to change the Pixels Per Display Pixel Override" to 1.5 to sharpen text and graphics with great success. Not sure what that would do for DCS and what PPDPO number you would use but would be interested if someone here tries it. My Rift still 4 weeks out Here was what they did for ED 1. Run the tool 2. Set the override to 1.5 and hit enter 3. Launch Oculus Home 4. Experience judder 5. Close debug tool 6. Judder will stop 7. j0nx Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 I had the down clock happen to me last night too. Things started getting laggy and I noticed my Gpu was running at 1150. I clicked the profile in afterburner to reload the overclock and it was fine after that. I have to say that the oculus to me still seems like a beta product. It's overall not that polished particularly in OH. I'm just hoping I don't have any support issues because that company is a total lost cause in that arena judging by the Reddit forums. Personally I don't play that game. If I don't get support then I charge back and let them deal with the CC company. Works for me quite nicely (x2.0) in the instant missions at least, but only in 2.0. In 1.5 I get really bad performance and I'm kind of hoping this is due to the transition to 2.5, and not only because desert vs Caucasus, and things will get better. BTW, Elite supports supersampling natively, so no need to set it from the debug tool. Thanks for the reply, good to know im not just going crazy :P or some config hasn't gone out of wack. Hope they get that training stuff sorted out too, my dad (that makes me sound young but hes over 60) is getting right into flying with the rift but it would be good if he could do the tutorials so i don't have to stand there telling him which switches to flick the whole time.

SageOT Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Not a comparison to fsx. Check this out. What impressed me most was it proves a working zoom can be done in VR and the ability to drag in desktop windows. ED if you can make it so I can zoom, and drag in my 9 line card and maps you will be my VR heroes. Even if you made a program like this and charged for it as an additional module, I would bitch and moan to no end, but I would buy it from you in a heartbeat. :) Man the future is going to be awesome.
