Aeons Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 Yes take off is that easy. Also as we already mentioned, trimming on the real aircraft is done through the magnetic brake. Which is very hard to do on DCS without an extended force feedback stick. So the best alternative you have is to use the trim hat. Real Gaz pilots don't use it though, they use magnetic brake extensively. Yes exactly. Trimming using the trim hat doesn't work good for me anymore. Just confirmed it again in 1.5.3 it works fine for me. 1.5.4 OB doesn't do anything really. In 1.5.3 I can trim the heli easy no probs, not in the OB though
anlq Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 With TrackIR ? Launch TIR, pause it, start DCS then unpause TIR when you are in aircraft. I already tried jumping into another aircraft then jump back, it was only to center TrackIR, not fixing head movement. I only turn left-right, up-down, other axes are not working. :doh:

drummer Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 I have the guns and rockets loaded and have set the weapon release button in options, but still cannot fire them. I do also have the drop down weapon sight but it blank and no lit reticule ring as seen I some pictures. Can anyone give me a talk through the correct switch arrangement please?

FastForward Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 I have the same problem as drummer : master arm is on "arm" on center panel, "armt" is on, the gunsight is down, but I have no reticle and can't fire... Are you sure you are on the 342L controls? No choice in the dropdown menu : there's only SA342, no L or M variant...

Ligeti Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 Got it all working (not tried the trim yet though). Nice FM, can really throw it around now, and the cannon is great. Having difficulty getting the rockets on target though, is the sight calibrated for a specific distance? Good work Polychop, look forward to shooting down some aircraft with the Mistral version when it's done. 1

The display says you are out of rockets. Did you map the firing command to your joystick trigger? It is not the same button as the one used on the M variant to fire the HOT3 missiles. NeilWillis Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 (edited) No issues in that screen, but do you have the sight lowered? If it is down, and you see the sight reticule, then you should be good to go. To load rockets and guns whilst on the ground at an airfield or FARP, just go to the comms menu, select ground crew, and F1 brings up an armaments screen. Select the rockets on position 2 and the crew will acknowledge the request when you click OK to close the screen. They will then tell you the weapons have been laoded once they complete the task. You will need to ensure you have a weapon fire button mapped too of course. Edited June 27, 2016 by NeilWillis

drPhibes Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 The first time I ran DCS after the 1.5.4 update, the default mapping of gun/rocket fire was set to the same button as missile launch, which doesn't work. I changed it to the inner detent on the Warthog trigger (with HOT launch on the first detent), and everyting works fine.

Flying the Hornet ... big yawn ... flying a Caribou on a beer run to Singapore? Count me in. Extracting a Recon Patrol from a hastily prepared landing strip at a random 6 figure grid reference? Now yer talking!
