DCS World Weekend News Update Discussion

Wishful thinking, but there was a date of 16th December mentioned, so wait for it....

Just 2 more weeks :music_whistling: :music_whistling:

At least, we'll see the Viggen today, so it won't be too hard to wait a little longer for the Spitfire! :pilotfly:

PLEASE don't quote me on any of this, I just thought I'd get everyone's attention

I also think that it is very much possible, that today marks the start of the Viggen pre-sale. That's what I hope at least :)

We can sincerely hope so. And to think I was blown away last Christmas with the M2000C release!

I have a feeling, going forwards, we'll see feature complete and virtually bug free releases. We have a great holiday coming!

I think between them, they will more than make up for the delay disappointment with 2.5 and the Hornet. And maybe they won't be too far behind either?

I don't mind feature uncomplete and non-bugfree releases as Beta/Early Access. That's what it is there for. Final releases have mostly been feature complete and bug free already. ;)

True indeed. I just have a feeling the 3rd party guys have learned their trade well, and the future looks very good.

I decided when the P-51D appeared that I'd make day 1 purchases of everything for DCS World. I have never regretted it.

I hope the P-40 is released soon though. Just a pity the Hawk has proved to be such a troublesome project. It'll be well worth the wait I suspect.

DCS M-2000C by RAZBAM

Fixed radio indicator showing "---.--" when radio powered off

Updated mil-power engine performance

Updated airfoil tables for more correct sustained turn rate

Updated damage configuration

Added DDM Equipment

Added Caucasus Campaign (1.5.5 only)

Added Caucasus Training Missions (1.5.5 only)

The fact that they put it out of beta. I would have thought it was one of the condition, specially as it was the first studio using it as a marketing argument

The Huey has been out of beta for a while if I'm not mistaken and it doesn't have multicrew, even though they still advertise it as a feature.

Can anyone confirm the status of multicrew? Is it just spectator or fully functional on modules that are slated to have this feature?

Multicrew means you can use an aircraft with multiple players at once in multiplayer. This is currently only the case for the L-39 Albatros and the Gazelle. The Hawk has limited multicrewing atm (no interaction for player 2). The UH-1H, Mi-8, Bo-105 and F-14 are supposed to follow with multicrew capabilities. All of them are supposed to have fully functional multicrewing eventually.

A snippet from the Huey product page.

Key Features of "DCS: UH-1H Huey" include:

  • Multiplayer coop mode for crew members of the same helicopter under development for a later update.

I imagine when this feature is complete and released for the Huey the Mi-8 will be fully functional as well in regards to multicrew. I can't see this slipping in without a major news announcement behind it for those birds. So many are looking forward to it including myself. :)

Agreed... except for the engine sound. Hope there'll be some realistic improvements down the line as well. The constant flyby sounds while slowly taxiing is rather awkward.

It was never a feature to have networked mutli-crew, it was a hope of the team to implement at some point.
