I'm a new user (less than a month), so it might be something I'm doing wrong, perhaps. I've been installing the SSA Beta updates just by running the MSI without uninstalling the prior version, is that the correct procedure or should I uninstall first? In the last case, does that keeps the effects config?

The controller was faulty and Andrey sent me a new one. Works perfectly since then.

Bought the Korea jets with the last sales.

In F-86 the jetpad vibrates even when the engine is shut off. No sound module or buttkicker installed, just the jetpad and simshaker for aviators, last beta version.

No such issue in the a-10c II.

Is this a known bug? Is there something I can do to solve?

Hi,  for some reason my simshaker isn't putting out sounds even though I have all the parent apps pre loaded. 

   Most of the time it is working in DCS before I go to bed; I exit DCS and leave on the computer, no sleep, and just get up in the morning and fire up DCS to play. 

I end up having to kill the aviator and shaker process and restart them,  and all is well again. 

 Am using the latest beta.

Is this normal?

My Jetpad tracking has said several days ago "Released by custom house and handed over to delivery" does that mean I can expect it soon in California?  Just wondering what service will be delivering it...  Do I need to be home to sign for it?

Which version does the title bar shows? You can also use the help about dialogue.

  I am not getting the effects going right in either DCS or MSFS 2020.  For some reason, when I am in situations that generate quite a bit of shaking, I feel the effect, but I don't see it out of the cockpit. My outside view is unaffected.  

  Also, when I make turns, even with a light touch on the stick I feel too much vibrations.  I don't want to get rid of the g-force, but it's at 5-10 already.

  I'd REALLY appreciate some help here...

Can't help with MSFS but I have just recently got SSA+SSM working and started to tune settings. I felt a similar way with too much G and lowered the effect volume without it doing what I wanted. There is a dead zone for g effect on the special options. I raised that to 1.5+ and -0.5. At default the g effects run at over 0g which is all the time as flat  flight is +1g. Kind of makes sense as the plane could then go smoother when negative g is experienced. However I increased this and it toned it down nicely. However I haven't tested too much yet and still need to do some work on my shaker set up and isolation so I may end up revisiting this.

 I sure wish I understood the settings better.  With the settings you suggest in the special options should I leave the main settings the same?

Is the Simshaker supposed to reflect in the outside view with corresponding shaking of the cockpit, like in wind or turbulence in either sim?

No the special options and volume controls (0-100) can work together. The deadzone will control when the effect starts in relation to the G forces on the aircraft, and the volume controls the intensity/volume. I would recommend testing on an aircraft with a g meter so you can see what's happening.

Don't know for sure but I don't think outside views are supported as this is a third party add on. I think all effects are the same, just you are watching from outside which is obviously not that realistic anyway so doesn't seem much point in trying to  provide effects for this IMHO.

In my experience just driving around in our cars we feel a lot more than we see the car shaking. Our eyes are pretty good shock absorbers so it isn't like having a fixed camera bolted to the headrest with no stability control. So when sim developers add visual shaking to race and flight sims typically it is exaggerated for specific instances like a stall or road bumps to provide missing feedback that we would otherwise feel. In race sims especially it is quite typical to turn these off or down in VR to stop motion sickness!

Physical shakers provide that missing seat of the pants feel so we can get the body feeling that we wouldn't otherwise see so I wouldn't expect the outside view to be shaking. Even as a passenger in a large jet you can feel turbulence with seeing the world shaking.

In extreme circumstances in DCS like your ailerons are all shot up or over stressing the air frame then the plane is visibly shaking but for normal manoeuvres you will feel it but not see it.

It can take some tuning with settings to get the right balance.

Hey, I don't know if anyone else is experiencing this, but for me the beta 2.3.4 auto-closes when I launch it (I use Windows 11 in case that makes any difference).

Beta 2.3.3 and stable 2.3.0 work just fine.

 

I obviously disabled auto-launch with Windows, so I launch the programme manually prior to launching DCS itself.

Do you get any error message? Could you please check if SSA generates an errorlog? It should be in your profile document's SimShaker folder

No error message: I start the application, and about 2 seconds later it simply closes itself. There is no process running in the background.
I checked the log.log file (attached below):

Is anyone willing to share screenshots of their settings for 2x transducers (rather than jetseat) Maybe just a representative jet/heli/warbird. I have recently rebuilt my sim pit to accommodate these and looking to see what others have found they like. I like some effects but others seem a bit odd and I'm not sure what they are to modify. Thanks.
