Does anyone here use a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro for the A10C? If any of you do, do you have any suggestions on how to set up my keybinds, keeping in mind that my one HAT switch is for view as I do not have a TrackIR...

I played using this type of joystick with A-10 for a while. The A-10 has at least 4 hats that are used a lot so I would rethink burning your only one for view. I used number pad for view and picked a few of the more useful hotas commands used for targetting for stick like TMS up and Right ( creating SPI and markpts.) , China Hat fwd and aft( slaving TGP and Mavs to SPI and TGP to steerpts), and master mode switch.

Heres a chart with HOTAS commands to help out

Hi MRaza,

Checkout the post I made for the thrustmaster t16000m stick here

This should give you a few ideas on how you might like to set yourself up to get started.

Hope this helps:)

Sure can. I used one for a while. Use the 6 buttons on the base as modifiers, and the POV hat can function as all 6 hats on the aircraft. I used the 4 buttons around the hat for the china/boat switches, if memory serves.

I'm pretty sure I posted a profile and a Picture to illustrate it somewhere here before.

I'd also advise you get some kind of headtracking solution.

I used FaceTrackNoIR when I first started, and having that free space on your stick really helps.

That uses a webcam to watch your face and works pretty well.

You can then get a few old remote controls and take the IR LED's out of them and build a headtracking rig out of cardboard.

I used that for about a month.

Then I got some brand-new IR LED's from Digikey.com for about a dollar, and 3D printed a frame for them.

A good way to mount that to your head is to modify one of those cheap headlamp flashlights.

I used to fly with Extreme 3D Pro for quite some time and made it work well - use the hat on the top and the buttons on the left from the stick as modifiers, so anytime you keep one of them pressed and use the hat it does different things.

But as Wrench says, it is crucial to get the TrackIR or other head tracking software. Flying without it is like..hm... can't think of a good comparison. But after using it once you will be amazed how you could have lived without it!.

I've been flying with the Extreme 3d pro for years, on all levels of flight sims (including BMS oh boy!), it really isn't that bad not having TRACKIR. Then again I've never used one so perhaps I just haven't seen the light yet...I just fly with my right hand and when hard evading I switch to my left and use my right hand for my mouse to look around. Trust me it's not hard, you do not need to dump hundreds of dollars onto a good HOTAS.
