F-15 Release

walmis

Recommended Posts

I have lost it when my ntfs partition master file table got corrupted. Tried to recover it but no luck :( and i made a fatal mistake not making a backup :disgust:

Just take this harddrive to specialized firm that recovers data and tell em what you are looking for, they'll get it for you. They can recover data in much worse cases.

the updater will not function temporarily, my domain has expired, and i will reregister it asap.

Also i have sad news, there will be no more updates to the model :(

If you wish to recover the data you should not make new partitions and write data on top of the corrupted one. Try to recover them by specialised software. It will be a great lost if your F-15 model perish this way :( .

In the future try to have two hard drives. One day you save your incrementals on one drive... the other day you save them on the second one. In between some DVDs, flash drives or even online hosting with one passworded-casualynamed-archive of one backup helps. Also RAID arrays are now quite cheap to make.

Whatever the outcome... thanks for your great model Walmis. When you start another one? :D

cheers.

There's a way to get your model back out of the LOM, which was posted here in the forums a little while ago.

It won't preserve animations, but you should be able to get the model back.

Damn, well thats a shame... Thank you for the model though Walmis. Maybe someone could make a modman or loman zip/rar folder that way he doesn't need to keep the updater for us and then host it at lockonskins or files?? I would but I am not sure on how I would go about doing it.

well his sig is down at the moment due to server troubles so you have to wait, even if you download the latest installer from lockonfiles or something, you can't update it unless walmis' server is working. I believe that's what walmis meant.

Here's the Original Installer

this one goes into ..\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On\Bazar\World\Shapes and replaces the original.

this one goes in ..\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On\Bazar\World and replaces the original

Both of these go ..\Eagle Dynamics\Lock On\Bazar\TempTextures

Finally, you can get the Template to create your own skins here

If there's anything odd looking let me know I'll try and sort it out.

I think a more elegant solution would be to ask ED team if one of the modelers have the time to convert back the LOM model that is "alive" now into a max or 3ds model and send you Walmis the output. I think ED still has the posibility to revert from LOM to max 3ds or other formats. I mean, this sould be normal cause, the comunity has posibility just to create new models through the given plugins but not to modify the existing ones.

Any chance?

If this is simply a matter of money to pay for the software then thats not necessarily a problem - how much would it cost in total? $200? if twenty of us paid $10 each then its sorted and we have a tool to use for the future as well.

Ed won't release one because they are trying to protect their models.

sorry no, i just contacted ED about this and they said they don't have anything that can change .lom format to .3ds. They don't have that reverse technology since they never saw a need for it. Probably because if they wanted to change something, they have the original .3ds format to work with. Therefore, our last hope in recovering this thing is the guy who bought this software http://www.zmodeler2.com/ and see if he can change the .lom format to .3ds and send it to walmis. Hopefully the animations are still intact, but i can't guarantee anything.
