Use the brakes!

That is, holding the wheelbrake key will ask the ACS to relax, allowing your aircraft to perform a brake harder, or sooner.. whichever comes first!

thanks. but that's not what I meant.

Is there an other way than holding down the brakes like disabling it in the options or some .cfg file ?

Is there a way to disable the recently added G/AoA limiter somehow?

...

Holimoli is asking how to permanently disable the G/AoA limiter (W key) without having to hold down 'W key', this is just a limiter and switching it off keeps the FCS on.

I just made mod for Disable/Enable G/AoA limiter.

Install with JSGME or just copy Mods folder and paste it into DCS World folder (if you do manual installation don`t forget BACKUP before install).

After install go in dcs options/controls, su27 and you will find two new commands. Disable G Limiter and Enable G Limiter. Map joystick buttons and enjoy.

This mod is only for Flaming Cliffs Su27. For DCSW Su-27 standalone module users it work if files are installed in right input folders.

Enjoy. ;)

Don't you feel like this is a bit of a cheat?

...no?

You just have to be careful not to rip off your wings, as you have to do in the real aircraft.

DCS modules are built up to a spec, not down to a schedule.

In order to utilize a system to your advantage, you must know how it works.

Why to feel that as cheating? If i want i can turn OFF my engines too if decide that is useful for me. (silent attack for example :) )

No, because pilot turn on/off that Limiter. (described in Su27SK manual)

Yes and No, becasue that feature are not implemented in DCS Su27 but it must be.

So, CHEAT: No vs. Yes = 2-1

When someone modeled missiles or anything else that can **** up Russian planes that is ok, but when someone (FOR SU-27!) modeled a simple switch that just like in reality serves to turn on or off G limiter that is cheat. A bit cynical isn't it?:music_whistling:

To have full back stick and then press the w key is madness, doing it this way goes from 7g to broken wings instantly barring some crazy stick fiddle.

Turning off the limiter lets you dial in the G as it would be done in rl without the added force needed to push past the limiter. Its the lesser of two poorly modeled methods.

Well i mean there is a Vmax switch in the f-15 pit but if i increased the thrust of my eagle by 15% i feel like I'd get a stern question asked...

Then why do fighters have just a button for that?

Under most conditions the AOA / G limiter will not allow you to achieve maximum G for your current configuration. It has a built-in margin of safety (as does the airframe) and can also be slow to respond to large stick inputs.

Being able to permanently disable the limiter allows a skilled pilot to get closer to the edge but comes at the price of having to be aware and careful of your current G load.

Edited to add: as I understand it the Flanker ACS comes with the option of disabling the limiter via a switch anyway, so this mod actually adds to realism.

What's the button for that?

I guess if there is a button for that then there shouldn't be a problem but i'm guessing you're talking about modding your game files right. I just don't see the similarity.

I probably won't be using this mod as i've have enough trouble keeping my wings and rudders on in the past as it is, but I know guys that will be grateful for this and I really don't see a problem with it.

This is the AoA-G limiter switch.

And the manual says that turning off the limiter doesnt increase noticeably the maneuver capabilities and it´s possible to drive the plane into a stall or to exceed the G limits.

There is no G limiter in the real Flanker. The stick pusher is activated purely via AoA to prevent control departures.

The G limiter we have now is a, uh, "helper" to prevent people from tearing off their wings constantly. Disabling it is actually more realistic than leaving it on.

DCS modules are built up to a spec, not down to a schedule.

Yes there is a AoA - G limiter on the real Flanker. Labeled " ограничит a,ny ". Literally ( AoA -G limiter )

Take a look at the picture some post behind.

Oh, my understanding was that it only limited G onset rates and such.

Even if there is a G limiter, it's not adaptive to gross weight like the one we have (not even the warning buzzer changes depending on weight IRL)
