Hey kena..... errrm, edible socks!

I love smotr, sure it's propaganda, but is shows very, very much of the modern Russian armed forces.

I know sukhoi has their own simulation department, and, judging from their 1998 supermaneuver program, I'd say there are either some ex- or current members of the lomac/flanker development team at work over there. There was a new 'supermaneuver' demo due out 2 years ago, but it wasn't released to the public, all we got to see were like 4 screenies, 2 of which were from the menu :/

No, it's not Lomac. At least not the version we're flying. How can I tell?

Well, I'm psyhic. That and the water trails Kuznetsov leaves behind in those videos. In our Lomac Kuz leaves only one short trail on his six..not the three long ones.

Lol, you disected that one Edible Socks...

I liked this clip... was wondering tho - blinking indexer (or was it something else?) during the last part of a carrier approach (in the sim)?

It was probably his first sim approach:) , jk

Maybe it`s supposed to blink...

actually ...there are few interesting things there. The clouds look eerily similar to lomac..even the general colour palette. HOWEVER, the water and the SHIP WAKE look a looot better than lomac.

BFM (buggy) is more appropriate, heck, I could get flanker to crash to desktop when doing some unorthodox aerobatics, well, same went for supermaneuver, and that, besides the fact that all keys are identical to flanker's, makes me believe it was designed by some members of the flanker dev team.

haha this IS fun!!! Su-30 with Thrust Vectoring hell yeah!!!

Man.. the glass cockpit is so different than what I am used to, especialy the HUD. I really wish we could get some new fighters in LoMac...

So is this what the Russian Air Force actually used for their flight sim? Can I sound all cool and tell people I fly the same sim the Russian AirForce does? :joystick:

Here's another vid on russian military training sims.

Mygosh, that reminds me so much of LOMAC. The pit makes up for every downfall their simulator may have ingame. Just being able to reach around the cockpit to flip the switch that we just press on the keyboard must be amazing.

Also, about the downloadable SU-30MKI simulator, I've known about that for ages now, but just never bothered to download it. Do you think it's worth it? Screenies perhaps?

I think so, it was loads of fun for a 9mb download. :)

I tried to get some screen shots but they didn't come out right. I used print screen to load an image in the clipboard and pasted it in Photoshop but all I got was a black screen with some purple pixels that were in the outline of a Su-30.

"The Battle Simulator"? Who knows.

Clouds and sky looked similar, but so do most flightsims with "simple" sky ;)

One question though; why was the Su33 pilot practicing A2G rocket attacks when Su33 is only set up for A2A. Isn't it?

No, take a better look at your LO, Su33 are capable of A2G weapon delivery (although simplified than RL Flankers). We can bomb and launch A2G missiles as well.

Cheers!
