I noticed that too, but it doesnt hinder our ability to see the detail that has gone into those models. They are very nice looking. I wonder if that reactive armor will break apart when under fire.

apart from saying always the same things, i.e. "again vehicles screenshots, WTF", the damage model of the tanks seems the same...

it's quite poor if compared to the original model, and it's quite poor even if compared to other sims, like Gunship! from Microprose (2001). In "Gunship!", the turret used to be blown away from the tank. It happens IRL too, if you take a look at the book by Concord, After the Storm: Iraqi Wrecks And Fortifications, it gives you a rough idea of the devastation that can happen in real battles to armored vehicles (and to the poor troops inside).

 

IMHO if the next sim is more mud-oriented, with detailed armored vehicles, it should also better cover the damage aspect. If you hit a jeep or a truck with a missile, it doesn't simply turn into a burning wreck... the vehicle is likely to blow up and fly some dozens feet away, and maybe land upside down...

If you hit the tank it can burn or have the turret blown away or it can blow up itself...

That's how I see it. Not to be morbid, but that's how things go IRL.

I have to visit the screenshots section more often. I see the new Mi-24 for the first time, it's looks just outstanding! When have been posted the Hind's screens?

That explains why I've missed it. This date brings to my memory nothing but 40'C heat, forest fires and me on board of a Ka-32, flown up to the limit.

I agree fully. Black Shark will be a "boring" sim combat wise if they don't include vehicle damage modelling. This magical "hitpoint" formula is really getting old. Turrets also should be "blown off" when I overkill them, tracks should come off, engine could be damaged. Not to mention different explosion/death animations.

meh.....I have trying to ask them that for quite a long time. The whole point of me playing old games like comache 4 or apache assault is the fun in watching tanks etc fall apart. Lomac is sooo generic damage model...there is a sense of fun to see a cartwheeling tank turrent....there is a sense of satisfaction in seeing a cartwheeling wheel from the vehicles. it doesn't have to be specific....just random things falling apart from vehicles. that alone will make it feel sooo satisfactory for blowing up stuff. We want to blow up stuff see....STUFF BLOW APART....not just a mushroom cloud.

Are you guys sure that BS will be a flight simulator? :D When I look at these tanks I could easily say that it's a tank sim or looking at the chechens with the Iglas one could think it's a 1st person shooter game. What is it after all???

Is this the new T-72 model made by someone from Lockon community - not ED worker? Or is it made by ED? Looks amazing!

 

EDIT: I'm asking for it because I saw a topic some time ago in "3D models discussion" section on russian part. If that was a person outside the ED team I must say he's very talented and he earned for a big credit.

i want to see the t-72 tank model ( exactly this beautiful model from this screenshots) from 3, 6, 9 km distance made from the ka-50 cockpit and also a 6 km distance screenshot seen through the targeting TV screen.

What will be FPS hit with details like that on the t-72?!!

 

When I make a high speed pass over few T-72 they'll look like matchboxes but my comp will suffer FPS drops!

 

Or should I spend another 2000$ for a new rig to just to play BS?
