RaceFuel85 Posted November 17, 2017 Posted November 17, 2017 No i meant the most recent video The shot of the mixing screen? Yeah it sounds really good..I just thought you meant a really really recent video (like in the last 3 days)
CheckGear Posted November 18, 2017 Posted November 18, 2017 That definitely sounds the soundtrack of a late-1980s to mid-1990s combat flight sim soundtrack! I can't wait to see the final product!
Panzerfan Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 (edited) Just awesome EDIT: I somehow can't imbed the video directly, but it's a full song from the Tomcat album from Meteor Edited November 20, 2017 by Panzerfan

CheckGear Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 The more I listen to Meteor's music, the more it reminds me of the soundtrack to Spectrum Holoybyte's Top Gun: Fire at Will!, specifically, the following tracks:
CheckGear Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 do you have an opinion on it or what Of course I do. I've shared it many times before. I like it. I love it. I want some more of it!

You played it simply to advance the story, which was essentially a reboot of the franchise. Nice to see James Tolkan "reprise" his role as a different character!
Scrape Posted November 21, 2017 Posted November 21, 2017 My son heard the latest song posted on Heatblur's YouTube channel when he walked into the room and asked if I was watching Dragon Ball lol. "It's amazing, even at the Formula 1 level how many drivers still think the brakes are for slowing the car down."

I see your point, although I wouldn't call it an abomination. I believe it was a "light sim", (of the study sim kind ?) and was the very first time I got acquainted with the F-14 Tomcat in a PC. The flight models of the several aircraft depicted in the sim were not so bad (ex. it was really difficult to dogfight against MiG-29 and the likes); it had a truly immersive vídeo plot; fetured carrier landings; etc. Don't even know if Fleet Defender was ever sold here in Portugal in the 90's. So I only had the opportunity to fly the Tomcat again a few years back (in the defunct) Free Falcon 5, and lately in Aerosoft F-14X for FSX. How do you know his name is Will?? Because it's the guy right there. VampireNZ Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 It would be great if there was an option in the cockpit to play the music from the album while flying, say tune a specific radio freq on an unused radio with just the standard play/stop and shuffle option, volume controlled by radio volume etc. Understand you could just alt-tab out and play in your usual player, but for those of us in VR and without a keyboard within reach of their 'sim pit' it would be a nice option. The tape player from the Viggen is supposedly also in the Tomcat
thatnukkamoe Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 Spectrum Holoybyte's Top Gun: Fire at Will on PC was the best! It was arcade but with simulation at the same time! I agree, the music is extremely identical.
CheckGear Posted November 24, 2017 Posted November 24, 2017 Spectrum Holoybyte's Top Gun: Fire at Will on PC was the best! It was arcade but with simulation at the same time! I agree, the music is extremely identical. It was very enjoyable. It told a very good story and the movies were good and the cast was great. I have to say, it was extremely difficult at times, even at the lower difficulty levels.

In those times before the internet, the availability of PC games / sims was much more limited than today, limited to the shelves of speciality stores. VampireNZ Posted December 10, 2017 Posted December 10, 2017 Well done to Meteor for getting involved in this, has subsequently prompted me to add their Inner Demon and Parallel Lives albums to my 'Synthwave' playlist that I have blasting when I am out cruisin' in my 89 'Vette :-). Vampire

WildBillKelsoe Posted December 31, 2017 Posted December 31, 2017 I'll definitely wear a suit and get a perm job to my hair and enforce an 80s themed dress/hair code if I play these in a party.
