imacken Posted July 1, 2017 Posted July 1, 2017 I want to remove the release verson of DCS, and leave only the 1.5 Beta and 2.0 Alpha. What is the simplest way of doing this? Just deleting the DCS World folder? Or will that remove certain important modules, etc.? sampler Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 I think what you want is to revert to an earlier version, am I wrong? Have you installed 2.1 and want to go back? Abandono la comunidad/ Abandon the community
imacken Posted July 2, 2017 Author Posted July 2, 2017 Sorry, but no. As I said in the OP, I have all 3 versions installed and just want to get rid of the release version. ED Team BIGNEWY Posted July 2, 2017 ED Team Posted July 2, 2017 the uninstaller is in the root folder of the dcs version you are using, or in programs and features in windows. This is the correct way of doing it. however if you want you can just delete the DCS folder Forum rules - DCS Crashing? imacken Posted July 2, 2017 Author Posted July 2, 2017 Thanks BIGNEWY. So, deleting the folder won't have any effect on other installs or validation count on modules? ED Team BIGNEWY Posted July 2, 2017 ED Team Posted July 2, 2017 (edited) Thanks BIGNEWY. So, deleting the folder won't have any effect on other installs or validation count on modules? correct I always just delete the dcs folder myself when removing installs, and I have 6 of them at the moment :) Edited July 2, 2017 by BIGNEWY Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Argo Navis Posted October 4, 2019 Posted October 4, 2019 Hello all, I am running the stable version and want to switch to open beta. I want to uninstall the stable version because I don't have space for both versions. I can't uninstall it, DCS doesn't even show up in the programs list. A year ago or so I moved the DCS folder from a hard drive to an ssd by simply copy/pasting the whole DCS folder. I didn't change anything in the registry. It worked, however, something must have gone wrong. Should I just delete the folder as mentioned above by BIGNEWY? Thanks

You dont need to uninstall/reinstall ... the DCS_Updater.EXE can be used to convert from one to the other, here are the instructions: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=114030 see the section "Updating or Switching an Install Between "Open Beta" and "Release" Version Branches" For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB
Argo Navis Posted October 4, 2019 Posted October 4, 2019 Hey Rudel, Thanks a lot, it worked! However, DCS still doesn't show up in the program list, the uninstall.exe also missing from the DCS folder. There is no way to uninstall it at the moment.
