Unfortunately, the bugs in the beta again go to a stable version of DCS. The problem does not concern everyone, unless it depends on your computer's configuration.

The floor in the F-15 is illuminated with light.

When I fly under the sun and I make a 180-degree turn on the back. The windshield and HUD become white and nothing can be seen. Similarly in Su-27 and F-5E.

I do not know. I was not sure whether this error was only in me or in others. Only yesterday I found a couple of people who have the same problem.

I know English badly, I can not describe the exact error.

Looks like the F-5E HUD is tinted too, just as a side observation.

I noticed this in the F-15 just now too. Its when the sun is hitting the inside of the canopy. Like sun is coming from the right, and hits left side canopy, or from low behind, and hits front canopy etc.

- Which feels inverted. Normals on the cockpit canopy should point out, not in. Unless its dirty inside that is the intention.

An issue we had in 2.05 first I think it was, when they updated the lighting and cockpit materials. Looks like we received some pre 2.1 stuff from Open Alpha.

Hi guys

Can I ask you to attach a screenshot of your settings page in DCS, and DCS logs

Also it maybe worth doing a cleanup and repair to rule out any strangeness with user mods or corruption.

thanks

Its not when flying towards the sun, you need to position the plane, so that inside of the canopy reflects the sun, if that makes sense. So just throw the plane or planes around like crazy up there, eventually you will get the angle that produce the above.

In your F-5 shot, fly towards the sun like there, flip it on its back, and pull and keep pulling. Eventually the sun will glare like mad of the canopy - not sure if you need to shoot the gun first, to get some dirt on there. Cant remember how that works in the F-5.

Currently not at the flight PC, so cant post my settings. But top of my head:

High textures, shadows off, vis range low, water low, traffic off, HDR on, lense flare on, DOF off, terrain shadows off, MSAA x2, AF x4.

Edit: Dont know if any relation, but noticed during the update, that it copied some 6.8gb from 2.1.1.

I will try and run a repair tomorrow, if you are still unable to reproduce.

some stuff is being merged from the other builds, eventually 1.5 will catch up with the other builds.

If you have a short track showing the issue that would be great, it would ensure I am doing the same as you guys.

If you can please run a cleanup before the repair.

I will check this thread tomorrow, it is late here in the UK

I fixed DCS and reinstalled, unfortunately without effect. Not everyone has this problem, I do not know what it depends on, but it is very annoying.

The settings in the graphics options do not change anything.

Morning,

Just had another go, not seeing it myself.

let me know what settings you are using, a screenshot will do or your options.lua

Thanks for the track, I will use it to try and reproduce the issue, above is what I am seeing at the moment.

Can I ask everyone having this issue to run a cleanup and repair

Also delete your fxo folder in your dcs saved games folder. A new one will be created when you restart DCS

Repaired and removed that folder, it's still there. Don't know if this is a configuration or settings issue, what i do: hop in F-15, locate the sun (ME default position) then fly towards it. Pitch up 30 deg. and roll, then pull back on the stick a bit.

Try with shadows disabled, Bignewy.

I think they are off in all the shots showing the problem.

I've tested this idea... you are indeed correct!

I noticed that when sun vector goes thru the bottom of the plane, we get this problem. If shadows are flat only or off, this glow effect will be reproduced.

Confirmed, had shadows set to 'flat only' but on 'low' the problem seems to be fixed. Knock-knock saved us from many deaths :)

It is strange that having the same settings and equipment, some have this problem and others do not. We tested it with Padonis. I have only problem with very dark HUD in A-10. The rest of my problems are not present

Fly upside down in some different directions bignewy, you'll see it.

its like the sunlight shines through structure of the aircraft - glare is being produced even though it should be in shade

addressing the light shining through the floorboards...

the taxi/landing light shines "through" the aircraft (i notice it in f-15c) - when you raise gear, the light shines on the instrument panel as the illumination sweeps across it on the way to being retracted

then, when you are out flying, the light shines on the ground if you roll inverted - huge tactical problems if its low light conditions - opponents will see the light and look your direction

would love to see this get fixed finally

either turn that light off when retracted or make it so light can't shine through physical objects

or both

thank you

Regarding my comment about canopy normals feeling inverted (pointing in, rather than out).

Posted this video in another thread too, about VR and checking six.

Anyway, has some good glare and cockpit reflecting examples, and where it happens, in relation to the sun.
