Cyph3r Posted July 19, 2017 Author Posted July 19, 2017 I am very interested by the VPC Mongoose stick, and I'm excited to discover the eventual VPC's future throttle unit, then I'll consider a purchase for a combo. But seeing that VPC clearly orients its products to russian cockpit layout made me wonder if the future throttle will be versatile enough like the Mongoose grip to fit all other DCS modules as well. Without toe brakes, that is indeed not the case with those rudders. VPC should consider to offer more features than to stick to a specific design. While it is OK for WW2 simpler aircraft fanatics, I think it is not quite suited for such complex modern jets. We already have the A-10C, perhaps the most demanding about HOTAS, then we will get the F/A-18C and the F-14. There is unfortunately no soviet modern aircraft DCS-grade modules announced yet. I don't care if the product's style matches a specific aircraft, I fly in VR, and I need something neutral ergonomically fitting every aircraft. All great points! I can promise you the VPC MongoosT-50 Throttle will indeed be a very versatile unit. We're aiming to announce it fully at the end of this month. Regarding your other points I'd just like to counter in that these are just our first products, we'll definitely be catering to as much of the flight sim community as possible as time goes on  ► Website: www.virpil.com // ► Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/VirPilControls // ► Twitter: https://twitter.com/VirPilControls For support please email support@virpil.com to open a ticket! WildBillKelsoe Posted July 19, 2017 Posted July 19, 2017 Some are more observant than others  There's another detail revealed in the teaser image which I'm wondering if anyone is going to pick up on! Full info on the pedals coming very soon! there is a toe brake underneath the pedal actuators? Sokol1_br Posted July 19, 2017 Posted July 19, 2017 Of course you can use them. Just map "Wheel brakes" to one or both pedal brakes. This guy will be pleased if you solve the "collateral effect"- don't be able to use true "toes brakes" in planes with "toe brakes" (Luftwaffe, P-40, I-16) after assign "Wheel brakes" in the way you suggest. My point is not deny that pedals with "toe brakes" is not better, of course is better - but cost more. The market already had 3 options of "high end" (and high cost) pedals, but only 1 "high end" uniaxial pedal in middle cost range. For new product is easy compete against 1 or 3?

TBH I didn't notice because when turning with pedal brakes you first apply rudder and then differential braking to tighten the turn, which in the end has the same effect with both braking methods (plus having got BoS just two weeks ago I had not noticed this side effect yet). For new product is easy compete against 1 or 3? And interestingly some of the low range priced pedals, have Toe Brakes... I think leaving these out as VKB did, might cost them some sales... No skin off my back though, with the Crosswinds I have I am set for pedals. LeCuvier Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 I wouldn't even consider buying pedals without toe brakes. If Russian planes don't have toe brakes, so be it. But many other planes do. fritzchris Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 Are there any news about these Pedals?
Buckeye Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 Introducing the VPC Stealth Rudders Hopefully with the recent announcement of partnership with Baur, the next Virpil pedals will include toe brakes and be up to snuff with prior BRD pedals. That would be great. For now, since I'm impatient, I am going to place an order for the BRD F2's with Su-35 style Combat pedals instead within the next couple of days.
