Coffee76 Posted May 13, 2018 Posted May 13, 2018 (edited) No, i can not confirm this Problem, 108. Today, i have made my second big Testflight of 2,5 Hours and absolutly No Freeze and No Stuttering. Was a pretty nice Experiance again. The Sim was online but the Flight made Offline. I think, that is in your Case a Problem with the Server. JIMJAM Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 (edited) Flip a coin. I am only SP was having NO crashes except when running VR at 4k. Lowered the res, fixed. Then after the latest big "update" I crash at times VR, no VR... that make no sense. One time when I dropped weapons, a few when changing views, here and there when doing random things. Up until the last update issues were the usual things but after spending 30 minutes making a basic mission, 30 to get to target only to CTD is leading me to take a month off or until the next update. Good luck. Edited May 14, 2018 by JIMJAM
Scotch75 Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 Ok, I just flew TTI Las Vegas single player (track IR 5 track clip pro) with DCS connected (login) with latest patch (2.5.1), latest Win10 update (1803) and latest nvidia drivers. I can report I had no microstutters and no freezes for the entire 4.5 hour session. I used GAU-8, mavericks (100% hits), GBU-12 (100% hits, lased from the drone), and CBU-105 (100% hits), watched the weapon camera each time, everything was as smooth as silk. Very happy with the performance. I just need to test on a multiplayer server/session now to see if it performs as well. Cheers! john9001 Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 DCS world "stable" works ok, but DCS openbeta MP freezes at the select role screen, mouse moves but clicks have no effect, after a while the screen goes black and I have to Ctrl+Alt+Delete to get out, this started after last update.
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted May 14, 2018 ED Team Posted May 14, 2018 DCS world "stable" works ok, but DCS openbeta MP freezes at the select role screen, mouse moves but clicks have no effect, after a while the screen goes black and I have to Ctrl+Alt+Delete to get out, this started after last update. bring up your frame counter ingame before joining MP. wait in spectators until you see normal frames again, then select your slot. It will take some time depending on your machine, your connection and how busy the server is with players and units. Forum rules - DCS Crashing? 108 Posted May 14, 2018 Posted May 14, 2018 (edited) Coffee76, I get 900Mbps in my network and I am not on wi-fi. This was on MP 3 screens, at around 1 am est. time. At least I no longer have to Ctrl/ Alt/ Del to get out of it. It makes it almost impossible to land. Right after I drop my gear, it froze up and caused me to crash on the runway. It is much better than before. As I said before my friend who gets about half my network speed reported no stutters or crashes. He is on a single screen, but this was my point. I think it is on the MP and multiscreen setups. My network has not faltered, everything else on my system functions normally. We play on the same server, online... ____________________________ A-10C, FC3, KA-50, CA, UH-1H, F-5E, Hawk, L-39C/ZA, MiG-21bis, M2kC, AJS-37, SA-342, AV-8B, F/A-18C(pp) ____________________________ ASUS Gaming Pro 970/ AMD 8350 8 core CPU/ 16Gb DDR3 1600/ Intel 730 Series SSD/ ASUS Nvidia ROG STRIX GTX 1060 6Gb/ Corsair 850w PSU/ Gigabit Ethernet/ X-52 FCS 4320x900 Edited May 14, 2018 by 108

I can fly for hours without incident. It just crashes after the first start up. Weird right? Coffee76 Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 (edited) Hello 108, the Power of your internet connection does not say anything about the Performance of the MP-Server. I think, if the Server is not running clean, it will not be your online Flight either. But I understand what you mean. My Suggestion, test it under the same Conditions with only one Display. Then you know if it's up to your System. One Thing we should never forget. This is DCS 2.5.1 Open Beta. And we all know, that Eagle Dynamics is always good for a Surprise. :) @ John9001: For me, it was very bad in "2.5.0 Stable" with Freezes. That's the Reason why I joined the Open Beta again. It seems to be like that Eagle Dynamics still a little bit of Work to do. Best Regards, Coffee Edited May 15, 2018 by Coffee76 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Greetings, Nightowls_Coffee

Ayindi Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 Only had time to fly one instant mission with FOV 140 for 25 minutes for now, but looks very promising! :) No hard freezes, only three or four soft ones, each like 1 or 2 seconds. Before that the mission crashed max 5 mins into it... Thanks ED!
Avernus Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 I've switched from my previous configuration of 3x1L to a single 4k at 110' Fov. The sim hasn't locked up since... unless provoked with deliberate intention! And it Will still completely freeze up if you want to touch it there :) Fov is restricted @ 140' I believe this limit is imposed so that ED may isolate the issue more clearly. To that end.. it would a good idea to remove this limit in a future update so that other multi-screen configs do not suffer. During testing @ 140' Fov on 3x1L or 1x4k the sim still locked up when provoked. My previous config required 150 at the maximum endpoint which always resulted in a hard freeze if i loaded a FW-190 in any cold start scenario just by panning the camera around for a few minutes or less. Other aircraft have the same issue to lesser or varying intensity.
F900EX Posted May 18, 2018 Posted May 18, 2018 Since todays, I am either frezzing or crashing, does anyone else have the same problem?
Coffee76 Posted May 18, 2018 Posted May 18, 2018 (edited) No F900EX, did you changed anything on your Hardware or Software, Nvidia Driver as Example? Did you Changes in you DCS Settings? Do you using Geforce Experience? Edited May 18, 2018 by Coffee76 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Greetings, Nightowls_Coffee
F900EX Posted May 19, 2018 Posted May 19, 2018 No F900EX, did you changed anything on your Hardware or Software, Nvidia Driver as Example? Did you Changes in you DCS Settings? Do you using Geforce Experience? The only change is updating drivers for Nvidia. Nothing was changed in DCS I use a 1080ti, SSD, 32GB Ram etc.. All higher end computer components
Coffee76 Posted May 21, 2018 Posted May 21, 2018 Hello F900EX, You can try the following Step 1: Update DCS to Open Beta 2.5.1 Update1 (2.5.1.16978) Step 2: in Nvidia Driver make a Game Profile for DCS and set the following Configuration: -Power Management Mode: Prefer Maximum Performance -Trible Buffering: On -Texture Filtering-Negative LOD Bias: Clamp -Vertical Sync: Use the 3D Application Setting Step 3: Set your InGame Graphic Settings like in the Attachment Image Best Regards, Coffee [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Greetings, Nightowls_Coffee
Aerthorn Posted May 27, 2018 Posted May 27, 2018 I too am having this issue. GTX 1060, Intel 4790 at 4.0ghz. Can we get an update from the Devs? there is 21 pages of comments on this topic?
Lao Fei Mao Posted May 27, 2018 Posted May 27, 2018 Since todays, I am either frezzing or crashing, does anyone else have the same problem? --------Set your pagefile on a fast SSD. If set no pagefile, you would get freeze even if you have big 16GB+ RAM. If set pagefile on hdd, you would got constant freeze either.
jm4130 Posted May 29, 2018 Posted May 29, 2018 I too am having this issue. GTX 1060, Intel 4790 at 4.0ghz. Can we get an update from the Devs? there is 21 pages of comments on this topic? Almost the same setup you have. - constant random freezes same as everyone in this thread when setup on my triple screen Nvidia Surround setup with TrackIR I reduced my settings to ensure I'm running at 60+FPS entire time and I will still just randomly freeze while sound continues to play. Tried reinstall, and using DDU to reinstall Nvidia drivers. The only thing that I can get to work is lowering the FOV but now it's like I'm sitting w my face butted up against the cockpit Was hoping to figure this out before the F/A 18 releases!
ECMO1 Posted June 22, 2018 Posted June 22, 2018 I'm not sure what I did, but I just flew three one hour flights with no stutters or freezing. I've been flying 1.5.8 since 2.5 released because of the freezing problms. I have kept up with the DCS updates and have the latest Nvidia drivers installed. I run three screens at very high settings, now with no FOV issues. I do have a pretty robust system though; 4790K @ 4.4Ghz, 1080Ti with 11Gb VRAM, 32Gb RAM, Win 7 Pro 64 BIT, dedicated ssd for DCS and seperate ssd system disk. I don't know how, but it suddenly just works, and It's beautiful. I'll post my Nvidia settings and DCS video setup tomorrow. Don't know if it will help anyone. Already shut down and headed to bed.
flyjdix11 Posted June 22, 2018 Posted June 22, 2018 After the last few patches that brought the 18 in I have been fine 3 monitors using nvidia surround No freezes. Before.... would freeze 5-15 minutes in. For me the issue has been fixed.
BitMaster Posted June 23, 2018 Posted June 23, 2018 --------Set your pagefile on a fast SSD. If set no pagefile, you would get freeze even if you have big 16GB+ RAM. If set pagefile on hdd, you would got constant freeze either. I had my PF on HDD as well before I switched to a dedicated "dust collecting" SSD for PF. In either config I had no stutters. So one cannot say you HAVE TO HAVE your PageFile on SSD. It's nice to have but not a must to achieve fluent gameplay. The most important part is to have enough PageFile defined. In my case, I have WQHD and full LOD, it's always 13-15GB RAM and anywhere form 23GB SwapFile upwards. Hardly ever below that in MP. Singleplayer highly depends on the mission you fly, you can tilt any PC with an extreme mission. Leon_Portier Posted July 31, 2018 Posted July 31, 2018 Hi, I just bought the F-5 and tried to play the multiplayer for the last two evenings, I love the plane but I´m sad about flying online. DCS freezes on joining a server with a ping below 40ms for 5-10min, it freezes also randomly in the middle of flight for 5-10seconds - I crashed the plane because of that. It crashed at least 3 times aswell, I link the logs. Other than that I´d really enjoy it. Here are the logs, I think they get generated on the crashes: https://www.dropbox.com/s/17yyt0gn6z4x3j2/dcs.log-20180730-200103.zip?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/n2c410z0a2p3zdm/dcs.log-20180730-221012.zip?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/0qo1fd3km8e674j/dcs.log-20180731-203646.zip?dl=0 My specs: Windows 7 64bit, Processor: i5-4460 @3.2 GHz, 8 GB RAM, GeForce GTX 960
