sometimes it's working, but when you shoot the missile or bomb, it returns to A/R mode and you have to set it again to P/T ....

Is this still a problem?

For the life of me I can't get this to work after cold start either.

This is still a bug. Yes. Only works with hot start.

Glad to found this post.

Being in stable 2.5.3 and did a recon mission and wanted the TPOD to follow some vehicles.

Will try hot starting from ground/runway or will it only work with starting in the air?

Great, thanks for the info Zarma.

Interestingly it looks like you can select point tracking whilst the TPOD has the F NOT READY message displayed, but is then not accessible when the message goes away

Gee I really hope so since it’s been almost a year (feb17) since it has been reported, and probably two months of it being on the new bug tracker.

Probably won’t see anything till July 2019 since now I’m reading they are allocating coding now to the mirage redux

I am actually hoping that they don't check in that code or fix it.

Because if they do, then the TPOD will break altogether. Something will happen with it that will make either FLIR unusable or the zoom won't work anymore, or you cannot go into TDC mode unless you have coldstarted the yet on a fullmoon with the carrier being just in the right alignment with the stars.

You know how it is.

They touch a subsystem to implement a feature, and you have bugs in it for the next 3 months.
